I love to give monthly garden tours every month during the spring, summer, and fall growing seasons. This way, you're able to see what's growing in my flower beds and garden and can let me know what you are growing as well. This is the April garden tour, which is super exciting!

From my farm to your home. 🏡
My name is Kaleb Wyse and here, you will find delicious recipes, videos from my farm, garden, and fun home projects. My knowledge has been earned from years of home cooks and farmers in my family. wyseguide.com
A farm is much more than a house to live in; it’s a lifestyle. My passion for gardening and landscaping came from outdoor work with my mom in our expansive farm yard, my love for baking came from innumerable short walks to my grandma’s house to make cookies, and as a farmer, my dad taught me that we are the stewards of our land.
So whether you live in a city center or have decided rural life is for you, I hope to inspire you with the projects and recipes I use in daily life. We can’t all live on a farm, but we all need farms in our lives. From the dirt in my vegetable garden to the flour in my kitchen, I’ll show you everything I love to do.

I appreciate you talking about installing your gardens in phases due to costs and not wanting to be overwhelmed. Our house was a new build in July of 2021 so we have been gradually adding to our gardens. It is important to be patient and not expect too much at once. This year we are planting 3 birch trees, creating a new garden area to hide our septic tanks, and planting two limelight hydrangea hedges along our patio for privacy (4 plants on each side, so fairly short hedges). We won’t be filling in all the garden and that will give me more to do next year!

It was instructive to hear you say you work on your garden as finances allow. I've always done that but, in my retirement, and after 10 years in my 1200 sq. ft. house (yard), at least the front and side beds are almost entirely filled with perennials. Now I'm working on the other side (my only full sun spot) and back yard. I buy what I can, go to the local seed swap every spring, and trade plants with friends. It's always a learning process, and I'm grateful that will always be the case. You are learning to deal with sun - I'm learning to deal with shade. Thanks for the tour!

I wouldn't want to give a tour of my yard. I've been here since 2021 and it's a junkyard. I have been working on cleaning it up since I got here and I am just now getting rid of a trashed camper. It's been a lot of work! I have been going based on condition but I think I am beginning to improve. Still though I have gone through a lot and I am struggling with a batch of poison oak or poison ivy. So I am taking a break to heal. I am on my 3rd week trying to heal. It's forward and backwards. Bit by bit. I am thankful to be at the bottom of that old camper. I have another round of trash to pickup but I am almost finished with that!! I have been trimming trees since late February but still a ton to get through and that's when I got that poison oak. This place is wild and almost 2 acres but most of it is natural. Lots of wild onions and random plants along a creek. Years ago, this place looked like a park. Enjoying life, even with the struggles of poison oak.😊

You do such a great job explaining the plants/foliage/trees in your yard, the overall design, and your future endeavors. Keep up the great work! Not sure if you have interest in having your own TV network show, but you should have your own TV show. A no-brainer in my opinion. Keep up the great work and thanks for helping a stressed out corporate person (who is always seeking a new passion) enjoy the beauty of your property on a Sunday afternoon.

Here in the Bluegrass region of KY my daffs, tulips, crocuses, dogwood, magnolias, azaleas, 16:52 pulmonaria, spanish bluebells, & brunnera are done blooming for the year. We had a Very early Spring this year. Most of my backyard is a shade garden so I have nearly 100 hostas there and all the way around the house. Each year I purchase 6 different varieties and raise them in pots over the summer so they reach a good size to survive the silly squirrels. Right now the peonies are budded out & will likely begin blooming this week. Hostas are popping up everywhere and the hydrangeas are doing 17:48 so well. Now I just have to get busy weeding! Your yard & gardens are simply gorgeous.

Thanks for the garden tour Kaleb. I especially love the '4 seasons' garden with the evergreen backdrop! That area has such a unique character about it. Your migration from garden room to garden room is very subtle and it is so hard to accomplish this, but yours seem effortless. Thanks again!

Thank you kaleb for the tour of your wonderful yard. I learn so much even though I have been gardening for many years. Our active garden season starts a little earlier out west here with my 6 Trillium plants just ending their blooming cycle in zone 8b. Just tackled the dethatching of the lawn today since we have had a stretch of sunshine in amongst the raindrops. The part of the yard I have always struggled to get looking nice is a deep shaded area right by the house on the north side. Many plants have come and gone from there because I end up putting in what I love but only see it when I cut the small strip of grass there beside it so I move it to where I can see it from the house or patio. Finally have a row of Hostas there and crush washed/dried egg shells to stop the slugs from their snacking and the last several years they have grown enough to fill in the space. I just top dress it with some compost every year to build up the soil. We did have a late frost compared to normal which did in my Mother-in-law's azalea that we brought over from her house in the early 2000's. Sorry to see that go. The other was a very old heather plant so I really can't complain considering the number of plants here. Neighbours report that they lost several plants as well at the same time since they had already started to have new spring growth. Gardens are always a work in progress no matter how long you have lived there. 💕

Keep sharing, after seeing your Allium blooming last year I planted 5 bulbs last year. A few weeks ago they sprouted with the head on them and it took me a second to remember what it was that I have planted. That’s the fun of gardening, always adding things and ever changing.

In our prior home, we had to go outside and clear those furnace exhaust vents during heavy snows. You'd think the heat exiting would do it, but be careful! Ours got totally blocked during heavy storms a couple of times. We have geothermal heating/cooling at this house, so no more exhaust pipes. Love your garden tours. Beautiful and peaceful. Makes me despise the deer we have at our summer place in northern Michigan. I can't really plant a thing because of them.
