As a Detroit-area native, I used to watch "Midday" as a kid on CBET channel 9 in Windsor, Ontario when I was home sick from school, since it came on right after Canadian Sesame Street. That theme music and clock graphic brings back a lot of memories. I think I also watched Fraggle Rock more often on CBC than on HBO (even though we got HBO).

If you are curious enough, _Swanee River,_ a Fox musical from 1939, and the film mentioned in CBUT's _Good Morning BC_ intro, was once available in full on KZbin, but with an earrape-laden disclaimer notifying that it contains some sequences that are performed in blackface. This has since been removed; prior uploads of its halves remain up.

05:30 - TV Guide - voiceover by John Stocker, who voiced hundreds of commercials, and was the voice of Beastly on the original "Care Bears" series. He was also on several episodes of CBC Radio's "Nightfall", including "The Repossession", in which he played formerly conjoined twins.

Where I lived in New England, we only got one CBC station on cable. It was CKSH out of Sherbrooke Quebec and it was all in French.

He is an interesting guy. He was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. He married Susan Perry who was press secretary for Pierre Trudeau (Canadian Prime Minister, and father of our current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau). She had a son Matthew from a previous marriage. So Keith Morrison's stepson is Matthew Perry who starred in the TV show Friends.
