I really feel bad for April's actual dad. He seemed like a really nice guy and he was perfectly fine with his 20 year old marry a 29 year old shoe shiner with no home. And for some reason, April thought of Ron as more of a father figure than him.
@AgentAnime953 жыл бұрын
@@hittingyouoverthehead I think shs see's Ron as more as a father then her bio father simply because she resonates more with Ron than her bio father. While her bio father is more nice, social, & outgoing. April is a bit opposite of that and so is Ron so she relates more to him than her bio dad if that makes sense.
@hittingyouoverthehead3 жыл бұрын
@@AgentAnime95 Well yes that's obvious. She wouldn't just randomly call Ron her dad, lol! I just feel bad for Mr. Ludgate because we actually see him and he's a nice dad, not an absent guy. Ron is a father figure for many. Two other characters who see him as a prominent dad figure are Andy and Tom and we don't see their fathers so I don't feel as bad for them. Aubrey is not playing herself. The awkward random slacker persona that she puts on for talk shows and public appearances is an act. The real Aubrey is an extremely intelligent well-spoken and professional person with a really twisted sense of humor. You can't be an executive producer (or even act consistently) with an April personality. In fact, in recent years she has just been her normal self in interviews. It just depends on the show and the audience. Watch her Off Camera interviews with Sam Jones for an example.
@olliefoxx7165 Жыл бұрын
Are you serious? Alot of people in Hollywood are entitled and priveldged people that were handed their jobs bc of nepotism or some box they checked. That's why so much of the content they put out is complete garbage. These people couldn't hack it anywhere else, that's why they're doing those jobs. They were handed them. Are there talented hardworking people? Sure it there's alot of deadweight that are just lucky and privileged. I'm not saying this actress isn't intelligent or hardworking.
@neolexiousneolexian6079 Жыл бұрын
It's funny that you mention the Off Camera Show interviews, because in one of those she explicitly explains that the talk show thing is not an act. It's just that the talk show format is itself apparently very forced and unnatural to her improv brain. IMO she's very good at acting a role, and she's great in more natural conversations (like Conan's podcast), but she looks genuinely really uncomfortable when she's not exactly acting but she's expected to pretend to have a natural conversation about herself based on bullet points, like on a talk show or (like you mention) some types of interviews. Someone like Nathan Fielder or Jordan Schlansky is (at least in large part) putting on an act. You can tell because their screen persona is too consistent/deliberate, and when bits of their real personality show through it's a very abrupt change. With Plaza it feels more like seeing real nervous ticks and the like, in response to each specific situation. That said, I definitely agree that she's not a random slacker at all. Talk shows are just kinda a weird place to begin with- Bright lights (Conan says the whole studio heats up 10°), large audience pouncing on your every move, and instead of playing a character you have to fake a personal conversation about yourself. She seems super intelligent, eloquent, passionate, and hardworking, and I actually think that combined with her visible distaste for pretense is kinda inspiring.

and we wonder why anything connected to government takes eons , eventually we will get to that futurama scene where ancient guy is standing in huge line waiting for his first birth certificate (when April becomes the boss)

In reality she has the exact same attitude as every assistant who’s been over worked for far too long
