Hey Kaylan, when purchasing a big ticket item for example a vacation trip or new car do you have sinking funds where you save for these items or do you just pull from your Amex high yield account? Do you have separate banks for your gifts, long-term savings Amex and rainy day? I am late to learning finance and budgeting and I like knowing what other people are doing, to see what I can mimic or leave!

I have a sinking funds for vacation, rainy day, and gifts! So when I purchase a plane ticket or birthday gift, I pull from that! For my smaller sinking funds (gifts & vacation) I keep the money in an app called Oportun. It basically withdraws money from your checking account daily based on your balance and puts them in your individual savings categories. For my larger savings (anything over $1,000) I have separate Amex accounts for them!😘 it helps me to see everything individually vs one lump sum
