The Long Walk is great - one of my favorites of him writing as Bachman for sure. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Mister Magic was a fun time for me. It has a mixed media element that helps it read faster. Go Purple Parrots! 💜🦜

Ooo a spinner wheel is such a great idea to let the nostalgia gods choose your book for you! I hope you get to Mina. It’s so Halloween cozy and the perfect book for when you want something fun but not too dark. Gothic has big King vibes; I just didn’t care for how the author treated his female characters. That put a “blehhh” taste in my mouth. Oh my gosh those tarot cards!!!!!! So dang cute. Gothic would definitely fit for the Devil Card interpretation you have - more ways then one. Let the chaos reign, fellow purple parrot!!!

If you read Mister Magic, you might want to check out atleast the first or the first couple paragraphs in the author note or acknowledgements (I can’t remember if she has both) before you read it. I’ve overwhelmingly seen bad reviews for people who didn’t know the theme of the novel before reading it. I had heard it before I read it and I really enjoyed the book. I’d write it here but it’s up to you of course if you want to know. I don’t think it’s a spoiler, it’s not like an answer to the mystery, but even the first page felt so powerful and something I could so relate to after knowing what the book is about. Sorry if this all sounds confusing lol.
