I've seen April Wine a bunch of times (just about every time they rolled through my town) and they always put on a good show. They came through once, after doing a few opening gigs for The Rolling Stones, and referred to playing in our arena to a less than enthusiastic (and small) crowd as "the shit end of the stick". Totally warranted and no hate. They didn't play here again for many, many years, to our loss. The last time I saw them was in the basement of a community hall that fit maybe 150 people. I think it was Miles Goodwin's "farewell" tour. They were loud, raw, and total pros. April Wine always has a place in my heart!!!

Sadly, Myles Goodwyn passed away, 3rd December '23. Undoubtedly one of the best Singer songwriters of the 'Arena Rock' Era. Strangely, upon hearing of Myles passing, I found myself playing this track over n over. Myles Goodwyn, RIP

Hah! I listened to their song 'Before The Dawn' only last night, after Wishbone Ash had reminded me of them in your video! 😀

Yeah, they are a bit pop rock, but this is their best song. They are way better live, in fact are the ONLY band that I have ever seen that are better live than studio.Check out their cover of 21st Century Schizoid man. Its better than the original.

Gotta do some more April Wine please. 16 studio albums with multiple greatest hits and live recordings. So much really great stuff. From piano and harmonies to power ballads and hard rock. Maybe go off the beaten track an check out 1993 album Attitude with 3 or 4 great tracks like, 'Heres lookin at you kid' or maybe from the album 'Nature of the Beast' Bad Boys or Future Tense. You won't be disappointed.

There was nothing dark about that song it was all about light and finding God again. Maybe listen to it now again and use a different ear
