There were a ton of broccoli salad recipes out there but I stumbled across yours. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for explaining the how and why of each addition of the ingredients along the way. The most important thing, to me, is that you kept tasting along the way. Something I am guilty of not doing.

I’ve seen recipes for this with sunflower seeds but sadly I’m allergic to them, but it does sound like it could be a yummy addition. 😀

Here because my Sister-in-law will not share the broccoli, waterchestnut, sunflower seed and bacon recipe lol This recipe falls very close to it except the dressing is much lighter . Not so creamy. Thank you !!!

Also I change it up by adding either cranberries at Christmas or golden raisins in the spring. Instead of the dark raisins and also red and yellow peppers chopped into very tiny pieces and chopped walnuts instead of the almonds .lastly I put 2 drained cans of mandarin oranges on the top of the salad for garnish.

How do you cook your bacon ? My mom puts in the oven. Was that 2 whole packs of bacon ? Seems like it should be a bigger amount but I guess it really shrinks. Thank you it looks yummy.

I cook my bacon in the over as well on a foil lined pan, it is so easy that way. I cook up two packs for this and it does shrink down quite a bit. It is really good, I love serving it for family get togethers. 😊

For the dressing I've put 1cup of mayonnaise , 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar stir all together and didn't have to put anything else with it, whatever you put it on it should be good. It's also good to make a cucumber salad with just sliced cucumbers.

I also like this broccoli salad with bite sized (diced) cheese of choice… I usually use either a medium cheddar or Gouda)… and I also add salted & roasted sunflower seeds.

I do know some of these broccoli salad recipes call for nuts, because of nut allergies in our family we don't use nuts. But I imagine nuts or sunflower seeds could be a tasty addition, but just as it is is very good. :)

El azúcar agregado equilibra la acidez del vinagre, la mayoría de los aderezos para ensaladas como este usan azúcar, la leche diluye la mezcla para que no quede demasiado espesa. El azúcar, el vinagre y la mayonesa funcionan de maravilla en la ensalada. Espero que lo pruebes.
