You can take full advantage of the 4K 30P 1.2x crop on A7iii while using aps-c lenses. Lenses like Sigma 16 f/1.4 and 56 f/1.4 have pretty wide coverage.

I manage to get between 16.5 and 17 MP with this lens on my Sony A7III when shooting in fullframe mode and managong the vignetting in post bij Scaling the image by a factor of about 1.2 .However, that way it more resembles a 20mm lens on fullframe which would be about 14mm on apsc. If you remove the rear baffle and front lens hood most primes (not sony ones) will cover pretty much a lot more. Like the Sigma small and cheap 19, 30 and 60mm lenses. From the Sony ones the 10-18 was the only APS-C lens that improves when you remove the rear baffle. It is a very simple and easy to do solution. There are even custom lens profiles to fix the distortion in post.

I am on the same issues, I have the 16mm + a6500 and just bought a7iii. So, I think I could use the 16mm with the a7iii on crop for video for better ISO quality than used on a6500, because the crapped a7iii on 4k video will acts as 10MP a6500"S" for better light due to using the whole area of crop-size sensor without skipping pixels. The Sony a6500 on 4k only use one half of the sensor-size because it is recording 6k which is 12MP before downscaled to 4k. While the a7iii on crop mode using the same given sensor size of a6500 but with 10MP sensor instead of 24MP for better light, just like using a6500S instead of a6500 or the same affect as 24mm f1.4 on a7iii. for videos ONLY the 16mm is better than 24mm as quality and size

does this change the aperture at all? ive heard that using APSC lenses on full frame changes the length as well as the aperture. Will a 1.4 still be 1.4 or will it change to 2.0 or 2.8? thank you for the video btw.
@OmaGhomrawi4 жыл бұрын
The aperture will be f1.4 but the look of bokeh (shallow depth of field) looks like f2.1 that's 1.4 x 1.5 (crop factor)
@Manny_____4 жыл бұрын
@@OmaGhomrawi hmmm so to get that same bokeh you would have to bring the subject closer to the camera I would assume? Crop lenses are so much more affordable than full frame. I really just bought an A7ii for streaming and using it as a webcam. Lol I got it for $450, I don't want to pay more for a lens than I did the actual camera. Lol

@@Manny_____ putting the subject close to the camera would be a solution. It's fine the apsc will give a look close to apsc sensor look

Hi Bro. Can I use the Sigma 150-600mm contemporary lens on Sony a7iii?. And what lens adapter can I use for it?. Waiting for ur reply

Sigma has mc-11 special adapter to mount Sigma lenses on Sony. Try it out

A74 is my camera So i can shoot 4k 60 fps in full frame ? With the help of lense is that possible???
@OmaGhomrawi2 жыл бұрын
I just tested that for you. There is a 1.5 crop in the a74 4k 60, and when using APSC Lenses, there is no extra crop on top of that. It's just the original 1.5 crop

Sounds great! I wanna full frame if i use 18 to 35 mm sigma f2.8 can i get full frame or not ?

Hello Oma! i have a question. How come when you use crop lenses in 24M it shows that circular thing on the camera? I love your videos man 👍🏻
@OmaGhomrawi4 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the dark vignette on the edges? That's when keeping the camera in Full Frame mode not in APSC
@angeelbarrera4 жыл бұрын
Oma Ghomrawi oh I see, I recently purchased the A7III and was confused into why the dark vignette on the edges was showing up! But thank you so much, your videos are always very informative and they help a lot!

Man I need more videos like this. I have the A7iii and would like to get a F1.4 lens without spending much money. I don't like Samyang, they are too big and I'm interested on getting a 30mm Sigma. Please help!
@OmaGhomrawi5 жыл бұрын
Hey Carlos, seems I missed replying to you! Sigma 30mm f1.4 will be 45mm on full frame. While Sigma 16mm f1.8 will be 24mm f1.4 on full frame

Unfortunately, it seems that this will only work for either video and JPEG shooting, but the zoom functionality disappears (greyed out on the menu) when shooting in RAW. Is this the experience of others?
@OmaGhomrawi4 жыл бұрын
eventually, clear image zoom is unavailable when shooting RAW

hey oma What is the difference of the 16mm with a 2x zoom and the 30mm. i know there is a little difference off 2mm or something but what about the abortion or such ?!
@OmaGhomrawi4 жыл бұрын
2x zoom on 16mm is technically scaling the composition to 200% while 30mm has different field of view, the subject is more compressed and the background looks closer to the subject. Try to find 2 images on the internet at 16 and 30mm (or 24 and 50mm on full frame). Scale the 16mm 2 times and compare it to the 30mm

How is the focus ? I am thinking to buy some crop sensor lenses and use them on Sony a7iii but curious if the focus is any good in both video/photo mood as well as the quality of the image
@OmaGhomrawi6 жыл бұрын
hey Kai, Never face a problem with focus. Technically it depends on each lens autofocus speed, some lenses autofocus is slow. The good news, I'm using Sigma 16 and 30mm f1.4 DC DN on my full frame and satisfied with the result. Sigma 16mm f1.4 at f4 is sharper than Zeiss Full frame 16-35mm f4 in videos and photos. To me I use crop lenses on my a73 only when doing videos. Don't prefer to shoot on 12 megapixels in stills. All the Best.

does f stop change when you put apsc lens on full frame?
@OmaGhomrawi4 жыл бұрын
it doesn't change f1.4 remains f1.4 but the shallow depth of field (out of focus background) looks like this equation (lens aperture x crop factor) example: 1.4x 1.5 = roughly f2.8

studioshaunx i have the 35mm f1.8 for full frame. It’s a fantastic lens Indeed it’s better to use fullframe lenses on Full Frame camera especially in stills
