If you're driving an F50 gt, there's no reason to use an ATM anyway. You don't have any money left. XD At least with the Aptera you'd still be able to have a un-overdrafted bank account because you're not paying for a ton of repairs every month.

I have to love the enthusiasm of these Aptera employees, and how well they communicate. They did a wonderful job on this video, and I like how they even included the drive through ATM. Acknowledging a weak spot makes all of the great parts of the Aptera design even more believable.

Can’t go through most tunnel car washes because of underbody rinse systems in the middle of the track. If you live in Texas, you know how much higher ATM screens are to help with trucks. In a normal or small sedan, you have to squeeze yourself out the window. Otherwise you have to move the car further away and get out of the vehicle if you found you parked too close. With Aptera, you can open the door without needing much space.

Some feedback: 1 - Since the car is so aerodynamically streamlined... If you ever need to reduce braking distance in a punch, you could add pop-up airbrakes. Especially effective at higher speeds! 2 - Rear turn signals should be amber. No exceptions. Doesn't matter if American laws don't say so. It's just better! 3 - Look up the "infrared atmospheric window": certain wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation in the infrared band will pass right through the atmosphere without being trapped by the greenhouse effect. This can be exploited for free cooling! Calcium carbonate, barium sulfate, and properly tuned synthetic opal can all radiate away their heat within this window!
@AmaroqStarwind
@AmaroqStarwind 7 ай бұрын
Oh, also… 4 - You could convert the suspension to serve double duty as an energy recovery mechanism. 5 - Because the wheels are protected by aerodynamic skirts... You could probably use bicycle-like wire wheels in order to further reduce weight. Not sure how much you'd *actually* gain from this since you're using a lot of composite materials in it, but it'd be worth looking into. 6 - For the 12-volt accessory supply, I'd suggest *not* using a lead-acid battery. You probably already took this into account, but I just want to be sure. Drop-in lithium iron phosphate options are available, complete with built-in chargers and BMS. And unlike LiPo, lithium iron phosphate batteries *like* to be fully charged all the time!

The scenario he talked about was camping and being able to drive out to a remote location and refill the battery with solar so you can no have range anxiety for the return trip. It would be nice if there were a small physical pump that you could pump to raise the vehicle up and an air release valve to lower it back down. Typically, there are lines for the ATM line, so you have time to do this and it wouldn't necessarily have to take up much space or add much weight and could be used to get extra clearance when absolutely necessary, kind of like you used to have to get out of your car to turn the lock nuts to enable 4 wheel drive in old style 4 wheel drive vehicles.

Learned a lot, thanks! The money part was just cringe enough to be edgy, lol! I am very excited by the longevity and Kalashnikov-ian repair-ability engineered in at the foundation. I want to know all about that, as that will probably justify my purchase. It's a relatively low price for new EVs, and it's unique and useful for the always-on, always-trickling solar charging, but it will still be my most expensive car purchase ever, since even my other EV was purchased used.. With so many used EVs coming on he market, it makes the decision to follow thru with my pre-order difficult. What will really justify it is if I can know it (including in the biblical sense, lol, as in hands on if desired) as an engineer-consumer, down to the most minute details, and if it thusly lasts forever so I can pass it down to my grandson.
