Olen pahoillani, etten osaa suomea paljoakaan. Your song is very beautiful to my ears. I have no excuse for my ignorance because I heard Finnish (and Finnglish) spoken regularly throughout my childhood by both my parents and grandparents. But neither I or any of my six other brothers learned to speak it, and I have long regretted that even though I have almost no use for it in my daily life anymore. Both my American-born parents learned English as a second language from their own Finnish immigrant parents, and they didn't want that to happen to us, so that's why we all lost the opportunity. Your video, based on the incredibly beautiful outdoor scenery of it, could just as easily have been filmed in northern Minnesota in the U.S. at Jay Cooke State Park near Lake Superior, and also close to where I and MANY other Finno-Americans lived and grew up. I've only visited Finland once, for three weeks in the summer of 1999, before Finland even converted to the Euro. I visited and hiked there through the beautiful park at Pyhätunturi in Lappi, and your video could have just as easily been filmed there too. So out of curiosity, I found the Finnish lyrics for your song, and using the incredible Google Translate, I was able to see it translated into English. It is quite profound! Of course language translations can never be exact, and especially between Finnish and English, but it is entirely good enough to get the gist of it. Irresistible. Thank you from sunny Vienna, Scott p.s. I play a similar instrument, a medieval psaltery harp. The main difference is that it's double sided, with gut strings for the right hand and bronze strings for the right, and is played upright. But I don't have anything like your technique.

Oisko vähän out of the box ajattelua yhyttää Ida Elina kanteleen kanssa Louhos soikoon 2023 keikalle. Joka vois inspiroida soittamaan loputtoman cover nauhan sijaan täysin uutta musiikkia uusiassa ympyröissä. Hieman ihmetytti ylivalottunut musavideo? Kuullosti hieman läpilauletulta alkuperäistä teosta jäljittelevältä sovitukselta hymy huulilla ja levottomasti loikkivan kuvaajan kera. Rohkeaa "kerralla purkkiin" soittoa.
