My question is if she felt unhappy or she felt a lack of emotional support, why didn't she break up with her former partner long before she met apurva? Why did she only within just a few months not only date but get engaged to a new man ? The answer is really plain - she didnt have the courage to break up with varun before because she didn't have apurva but as soon as she met him, she knew now she could latch on to him. This behavior is very common nowadays, people not happy in relationships but pretending and self blinding themselves and infact the rest of the world into thinking that both the partners are happy w each other. Unless, a time comes when one of them finally has a backup and now suddenly has the courage to breakup with their partner because now they already have someone else to latch to, leaving their former one confused. I've been through an exact similar experimect, and i can assure you this is the only reason. Period. Her losing her father being tragic, doesn't have anything to do with this because probably this narcissist behaviour is a trait of hers and she would have come up with any other reason to just her behavior, her father being alive or not. Period. But unlike others i don't think she is a gold digger because common she earns well enough, nor can i comment on whether she will be leaving apurva in future as well, might be she stays happily married to him but that doesn't make the mistakes she did right. Just because it hasn't happened to apurva doesn't make divya and apurva right so justification here is of no use.
