Looks like a real evolution step. I hope you spread it to the TETRA standard radios too! Would love to finally use a TETRA built for firefighters!

Explaining all features would be more useful than fancy music and a bunches of flashes of video.

If this marketing video was intended to elevate my heart rate, it's achieved that. Curate a better soundtrack.

Clearly Motorola is completely out of touch with how firefighters actually USE their radios. When things are on fire and you're on the scene and have all your turnout gear on, you're not going to be LOOKING at the radio. You need a dispatch channel and a fire ground channel and controls that can be operated by touch, wearing gloves, and not have to look at the radio. This was clearly designed by autistic young people who've grown up with smart phones but never actually used simple and effective walkie talkies for simple, direct, and efficient voice to voice communications. This product will have its uses. But if you think a sweating firefighter needs a touch screen based mobile device, you're not thinking right.

That screen will last 2 seconds

I could see how this design could in theory, ditch the separate voice pagers, as they could push location data on the screen. And in theory, display a map of the area they are about to go into. But in a smoke filled room, there is no way to read that screen. I think in law enforcement, these could be a better option for running plates, and pulling one file.
