That was so much more than just the story of how her employee got taken. That story by Moona is so touching, well at least the first half. She has expressed how nervous she was playing on the jp server with the jp members because of her Japanese skills. Her encounter with pekora (and the subsequent encounters) and pekora's openness to communicate (despite the difficulties) really helped her confidence. On pekora's side, despite her talk about prefering to work in/playing minecraft alone, she becomes good friends with Moona and invites her into her construction company. Top character development anime right here.

People really forget that Pekora was the first to interact and brought Moona around, besides watame and Subaru, but even then it was mostly Iofi talking to Subaru and Watame that time. If Pekora did not interact with Moona at that point of time I'm not sure Moona would've helped Aqua and Marine when they were building their ship later on. Maybe she would've been too shy like Risu and kept playing alone.
