4:48 I love this close-up. We see that the star in his eyes is white again, it is an important detail for this scene in my opinion, showing that the acting of Kana was dazzling for him. Also is it just me, or just after he lower is head and smiles thinking it is Kana's specialty, that the purple, or violet around the star in his eye feel more vibrant? Because it felt like the color at each extremity of the star felt more visible when he lowered his head.

There's a lot of double meanings, like I think Aqua's monologue to Kana after getting punched seems partially or mostly ad libbed. He purposefully said things that apply to her and that she said to him that would make her sad (nobody needs you, you have no future, you're in pitch-darkness). Which is amazing because by saying those things, he's actually disproving them at the same time (she asked him to join so she wouldn't be alone in the darkness and so they could save the show). So her response and tears were both acted and real. It was exactly what the manga wanted to portray (per Aqua's plan) and it was also what Kana was feeling in the moment "There is light yet"... That line is then carried to reflect the feelings of the mangaka who despite being let down by the terrible adaptation saw a silver lining. This show is beautifully written.

Yeah it was crazy because he even brought out the emotion in the model guy by whispering those things to him first to get him to re-create the scene from the manga. They foreshadowed it with Kana crying during her reading it too. I love that this show can be so deep with a lot of things. Even the copy-paste of their first day from Ep. 1.

I find it funny that Aka had the mangaka character lament about how you can't expect a satisfying addaptation of your manga when Aka himself is now 2 for 2 on getting god tier adaptations of his manga. I know that it's not usually the case for many artists, but I still find it funny to hear it from him of all people.

Aqua's soul has been kicking around for like 45 years, but the last 15 of those years, he's largely been treated like a child. And despite him wanting to cling to the idea that he's a mature adult stuck in a child's body, there is a big part of him that really became Ai's child. His idolization of her switched from "she's the best" to "i can never be as good as her." Also, he literally made getting vengeance for Ai's murder his sole purpose for living. That's definitely beyond her just being his favorite idol.

Aqua is essentially a teen right now. Hes not really in his 40s. His soul has basically changed with his body. When he was younger the juxtaposition between the two is what gave him the creepy feel that people picked up on but now that his body is older and hes grown up as Aqua hes basically a teen again. Basically Aqua and Ruby are teens. Ruby isn't a late 20 something and Aqua a mid 40 something cause you don't really stack the years between each life.

Then it had been about 4 years Sarina's passing and when Ai shows up at the hospital. That puts him at 30-32 when he dies. So at 15 years old, his soul has been around for 45-47 years.

I am all for Kana joining, anything for having more Kana in the story, I love her. Also, yeah, Kana pretty clearly fell in love there, I think it was quite explicit. The script required Kana to look as she would the moment she falls in love, and what does she do to get that look? Stare at Aqua, can't get much more on the nose than that. Also, I ship it hard.

I mean imo, it's best not to think too much about the morality of Aqua being in a relationship. Like, if you focus on his mental age over his physical age, the implication is that he should be in relationships with adults while being in a teen's body, which is definitely weird as well. It's an impossible situation (an adult mind being in a child's body) anyway, so there's not much point debating over the logistics. I personally just see him as an actual teenage boy, just with the added context of "oh I remember things from my past life"

I find i really enjoy your reactions, but, you brought up the "But Rudy is an old guy" thing from when Mushoku Tensei aired. Look, Aqua is a teenage boy. Teenage body, teenage social status, teenage brain. He seems to have the perspective of someone who lived until their 20's in a previous life, which, medically, could be seen as just a memtal disorder. It can NOT be a "let's add the numbers!" way of judging him. That would be insane. The only reasonable ethics for him to to live life as the person he is, the human society and family see him as. Best back up point- say he's 16. Should he date/fall for a 16 y.o. person, or a 30 y.o. person? Trying to maych anything about tmhis currect life to ANYTHING based on him being a doctor seems obscene.

i think you not watched any isekai animes because there is most of isekai animes 30 and 40 years old guys died reincarnated and have girl friend of 15 years old so it is not strange though it is very common in isekai animes this is not isekai but have the same elements though
