AquaEl Leddy 60 set Unboxing and Review

I’ve had this aquarium in my bedroom for about a year, and its fantastic. The planta are growing perfectly and I’ve had various fish like, Bettas, platys and neon tetras and they all seem to be thriving. It’s easy to clean, the heater is good and the filter had a perfect flow for the types of fish I’m keeping. The only problem I’ve had with this tank so far is the look of the lid. I switched it out with a custom glass lid, but now I love it.

Nice tank. I think the only thing I don't like about it is the "plasticy" lid. I'd probably make a glass or acrylic lid should I buy it. 👍

Does the lid have an extra mounting spot for the other light? You didn't say how you installed ist😅

Awesome little tank. Pity that the mat isn't included in the price. I don't like the lid design but after some thought, I reckon the price can be justified by what you actually get with the tank. Great review.

We just bought this tank. Do I take off the plastic frame on the bottomed of the tank? Ours didnt come with a mat. Does it need one?

Doesn't need the mat. The plastic frame is what keeps it from not breaking easily.

I bought a Leddy 40 with a volume of 25 liters and got an identical ASAP 300 filter with it, only with a sponge as an insert. I put 5 small guppies and 2 small corydoras in the aquarium and my water gets dirty in max 2 days if I don't change it. I tried to put fine cotton wool in the filter along with the sponge and the matter improved and now the water is relatively clean for max 4-5 days, but the cotton wool in the filter gets dirty and starts clogging the filter. Did I exaggerate the number of fish or is that filter simply weak?

Yeah too much fish and cory shouldn’t go in a tank lesser than 75 liters (20 gallons). Also cory should be kept in a group of 8/10 of the same species, this is just for information :)

@@Richardvariety Thank you. In the meantime, I took a 54-liter aquarium with a hang-on filter and transferred the fish and a lot of plants into it, and now everything is as it should be. I now have 6 guppies and 6 corydoras. I rearranged this smaller aquarium of 25 liters for a couple of shrimps and one betta.

Some people do, I don't. It can cause your bottom to crack if its wet and you move the tank.

After reading all comments (even from @McMerwe) I have realized that pretty much everything here is poor quality/choice: 1-lid drops water; 2-filter is "weak" if you want more than just a qouple of fish; 3-heater does the job, however it is built for max 50l and this is 54l tank; 4-lighting is weak... All in all, you can keep the glass and you must replace everything else

Honest reviews as always. The filter diffidently needs replacing. But the heater is good. Never had a problem and it gets to about 5 degrees Celsius here and it keeps up. The lid on the other hand, I only open once every two weeks with waterchanges. So its not a big deal for me, but it might be for some.
