AquaEl Ultramax 2000 airlock!!!

A thumb up for you :) Only in the seller presentation everything go right , only from real life use and things going wrong is something to learn, there is always something to learn . What I can add from my own experience is that external filters ,and attached pipes ,are better to be filled with water as much as possible before being started, priming button is there to help but it will make the job easier . after a while rubber seals will lose elasticity and they will no longer be as tight as when they were new, the air will enter the filter and beside bubbles in the water outflow ,the pump will become noisy , a rumbling can be heard and the user will enter in panic mode ,a thin layer of food grade grease applied on the seals will do wonders.

Thanks for ur experience. I never had problems with pipes or seals. On end of February or March I’m gonna make a vid of 2 years of using it. So stay tuned but now is time to test my new toy from AquaEl!!!

Hi Seb, thanks for posting this up, I'm having the same problems with my Ultramax 2000 ! Every couple of days the filter is full of air ! I look forward to seeing if you have resolved the problem as it is driving me crazy, all the best mate.

Finger's crossed you've sorted it out? I've tried everything but nothing seems to help, it is a shame because other than the air building up in the filter it works very well.

Seb's Fish Corner Mine was having the same problem. I found the air was getting in where the clear intake hook joins the black intake pipe. I just turned the intake hook around so the long side of the intake hook was in the aquarium so that the clear pipe is under the water where it joins the black pipe and haven’t had any problem since.

Fill the pre-filter bit with tank water after cleaning and replacing it. That should displace most of the air.

I can only join this council! It makes the restart much easier - and cleaner 😉. I would also always close the output lever.

I had this filter for more than one year, never had any problems. I have a sponge on the intake also, maybe that prevents air getting in.

Replace impeller with new model (6 blades) Old impeller causes cavitation effect.

How big is your tank. Can you recommended for a 400 liters tank, or do you think the flowrate is to low (even with extra pumphead)

Hi. My tank is 220L and I have in it 23 ancistrus plecos and 5 panda corys. Aquael recommended from 400 to 700L but I think 400-500L will be max for this filter. Above that I will use 2 of them.

robcio tego nie próbowałem, nie omieszkam tego zrobić po 2-3 tygodniach jak nie będę widział żadnych oznak zapowietrzenia. Dzieki wielkie! 🙏🏻😃

i solve it by pushing the priming handle down everytime it lifts up. Sooner or later, all the air will be expelled

@@robcio6364 to juz wyprobowalem, nie chodzi mi o pobor pradu, bo ten w wersji 2000 i tak jest maly. Takze wrocilem do oryginalnego wirnika z 2000. Ale dzieki za wszystkie tips-y
