Appreciate the video as it was very informative. I do have a question about flow restrictor for the AquaFX 4 stage Barracuda. I never knew about the flow restrictor when I changed from the standard 50 gal GPD to the 100 GPD. Got it from Amazon but there was no flow restrictor with it. Where can I obtain the flow restrictor? Thanks in advance.
@kouki206 жыл бұрын
You can get the 100 GPD flow restrictor directly from AquaFX - (aquafx.net) - or you can call them 888-256-3467 (407 599 2123)

I added the piggy back membrane to my system to produce up to 200 gallons per day. I also have the add on Chloramine blaster kit. Since adding the 2nd membrane, the system is not removing ammonia (city treats with Chloramine) Ammonia is now at 1ppm as product water. Is the system running too fast to break up the Chloramines?
@Mimibrizio4 жыл бұрын
You are exactly correct; the contact time with the Chloramine Blaster is essential. Unless...you just changed them, then it takes 24 hours after wetting for full working capacity. We can add a additional canister to the front of the system. Move the sediment to the new canister (in front) and run 3 Blasters in a row. We can Also add a 20 inch canister in the front of the system and move the sediment behind the Blasters. That works when you have high initial concentrations. Feel free to give us a call 407-599-2123 The more we know abut your water the better the recommendations we can make!

Have clean RO water coming out of my brine exit line and brine coming out of the outer most port on RO housing. Are there different configurations housings?

Great video. A question: Just replaced the membrane, new, and after 1 hour we still have to water coming out to fill the tank. What's the problem? Do these sometimes come defective? Also, noticed that the drain tube is always draining but nothing in tank. Thank you for your help with this!

I want to make sure I understand your question. Are you telling me, after 1 hour you still don't have water? If that is the case and the drain is running, it sounds like it maybe a flow restrictor missing. You can certainly call the office 407-599-2123

What’s a good schedule for me to change out my filters? What would you recommend? I did equip my system with the 100 gallon/day membrane and filter. I try to do about a 10-20% every week to week and a half.

which size of unit will have the TDS meter built on it ? will the hundred gallon stage 4 have it on it ?
@petebrizio84427 жыл бұрын
The units are built both ways, so its just a matter of whether you add it to the unit (or not to save $) but it makes much more sense to have one put on!! :)
@mariannebrizio60867 жыл бұрын
We can put a TDS meter on any unit.

what is the purpose of the flow restrictor? What happens if you left in the 50 gallon one or took it out completely?
@AquaFXdotNet10 жыл бұрын
Hey Carl - The Flow restrictor will basically 'block' the waste water - and instead of all the water being able to escape down the drain - the water has to force itself thru the RO Membrane (creating pure water) - If you run an RO unit with "NO Flow Restrictor" you will get almost 100% waste and zero product water. If you leave the 50 GPD restrictor on the 100 GPD Membrane you wont be creating as much waste water as you should be, the RO membrane can fail sooner. 100 GPD restrictor on 50 GPD unit - the unit will under-produce product water and will be running excessive waste water. I hope this helps Carl!! :)

AquaFXdotNet Thanks!! makes sense now. Do you think these flush valves are worth the trouble? I think all it does is bypass the restrictor for a few seconds or minute.
@AquaFXdotNet10 жыл бұрын
Carl Gennaro Thats 100% correct - but yes they 'can' be worth it if you make medium to large volumes of water. Simplified - the flush kit rinses the RO membrane and frees unfavorable things, releasing them into the drain extending RO membrane life. Commercial systems will almost always have a flush of some sort as commercial membranes can be $400-$500/each so maximizing their service life is critical. So i guess if you make enough water, or just want longer RO membrane life, Yes they are worth it!! :)

This was probably true at one point. There are more membrane manufacturers now. If you look at the Pressure, Temperature and water quality, which are the criteria for the rates, you will see there are differences. It is called the FLUX of the membrane.
