May I respectfully add, If you're using filters of this type in Winter/sub 0c/32f that you keep them inside your clothing and at night, inside your sleeping bag when not in use. If the water inside the filter freezes it'll shatter the filter matrix rendering it useless.

Yes, great point that I should have mentioned. I'll pin your comment for others. Thanks.

Great video and neat little filter. I've used this before, and noticed with the bottle, its useful to blow into it before filling. Makes filling it easy.

Good review and video Kev. It looks pretty much identical to the sawyer mini, which I've used succesfully for a couple of years. On the budget front I bought one from Temu for £12, Called a MiniStraw. Very similar in design to the Pure Clear water filter. I like it because it comes with a collapsable silicone type bag with a wider opening. Much easier to fill from streams etc. It seems to work well enough and claims the usual 99.999% filtration. Good option for anyone on a tightish budget.

Great review Kev, decent price too. I like how small and lightweight it is 👍

Please could you do a video comparing all the water filters you have used. I really want to get one. The price of this one seems great. What are your thoughts on how it compares with others, particularly the Sawyer filter?
@TheWalkingKev3 ай бұрын
I've only used the Platypus water filter and this one. They last for a long time so I haven't had to use any others.

Brilliant Kev. I’ve got a life straw but never take it with me. Think I’ll have to change that. What did the water taste like 😁
