The air pocket in Justice League was just because Mera wanted a private conversation. There was a lot of underwater convos cut from Justice League, like Willem Dafoe's Vulko taking to Arthur. Yes WB and Joss Whedon thought cutting out Willem Dafoe would be a good idea but they were happy to keep the random Russian family and Flash falling on Wonder Woman. Idiots.

The Atlanteans are a different genetic make up from humans. There bones and muscles are super dense to deal with the water pressure (Also why they can jump out of planes and land safely. They basically super strong like Superman), so the way they movie is going to be natural. A regular human in scuba gear won't have the same freedom of movement.

Ppl I don't understand the underwater talking discussion they have superstrength and their physiology has evolved to move like normal/fish under the water AND they are even more powerful under water cos that's their domain. Zack or James Wan said aquaman has superman level strength and speed when he's underwater that's why u saw him move super fast to catch up with the submarine and he lifted that submarine to the surface like superman. The plane desert jump also they have superstrength so they can land on their feet or land without getting injured. People forget how aquaman surfed that parademon all the way from the skies into that building to the ground in justice league??
