I hope people don't start snipping off their starfish arms thinking they will have multiple starfish...it takes YEARS to regenerate a full body! Unless you want random, creepy, limbs with thousands of creepy mini feet crawling around in your tank, PLEASE be a good person and let them reproduce on their own. Also, who in their right minds would do that to begin with?!

I think they have foam filters you can put over the one you already have to small debris and small creatures won’t get sucked in I’m sure by now you have found a solution but I thought I’d mention it on the off chance you haven’t. We raised Minos and mollies when I was young and we had special covering for our filter so if they had babies they wouldn’t get sucked up . Hope Patric ends up fine and “ Learns his lesson “

Sea Stars have notochords/radial nerves which is a primitive brain that functions the nervous system! Its like our spinal cord and vertebrae area except without the bone for protection, it’s on their bottom side and runs through all the arms! I love sea stars! I dissected the giant sea star in my bio class and I dug into the mouth and found a whole ass garbage disposal array of like skinny one inch long teeth all every which way! Idk what happened to them but I remember taking one or two home to prove how long they were! I know they’re much smaller in smaller star fish and it’s never likely to happen unless I like stuffed my down their mouths but like I have an irrational thought of one just grabbing onto my finger and shredding it 😂 like I don’t fear them but every time I see one that thought comes to my mind. They’re such strange creatures but so simple it’s amazing!

Naturally in the wild starfish gett their arms pulled of by crabs but when that happens they can regrow them so u don't have to much to worry about when it does happen
