i had an amazing 30Gal Long freshwater set up .. water as clear as air .. it looked like i had a slice of a crystal clear river in my living room .. i had to go to work with my cousin in lancaster (before i moved here) for a week i asked my mother to please stop in and feed and water my cats and feed my fish i fed and watered the cats and fish before i left .. when i came back there was a big bowl of cat food and water on the floor for the cats .. and my fish were dead my albino oscar was in the middle of being eaten by my crayfish and the water was cloudy and gross .. my mother never fed the fish and the crayfish went around and ate all my other fish .. eventually the little bastard ate through the rubber caulk on the tank and it started pouring water out of one of its corners .. my mother is a very self centered and selfish person .. i should have never trusted her to look after my animals .. that was the first and last time i ever asked her to check/feed any animal of mine .. (there are other things she has done also dont think i arrived at this conclusion from this one incident, this time i had thought she would take it seriously since there were living beings involved .. but then again i should have just looked at the way she treated me in my life and should have known) needless to say .. tank was gone fish were gone living room was wrecked from the water damage a word to the wise for everyone out there .. there is a reason the expression "if you want it done right do it yourself" exists .. dont trust anyone but yourself to look after your stuff or animals/pets
