The man was blessed with an extremely rare musical talent from birth, I am convinced he is a 1 of 1,000,000. No one since, has replicated his ability to not only make great music in one style, but to shift effortlessly in mere days/months to produce even more spectacular work in another. Despite this, my favourite era of Rupert's is this Pre-Photek era. Aquarias, System Ex, Code of Practice, Studio Pressure. It's because this was when I believe he was making music he enjoyed most; during his 'honeymoon' phase. Funnily enough, I still put Jim Source Direct as my favourite. He lacked the technical skills of Rupert, but he had more talent in recognising & blending together samples seamlessly. From 94'-96', no one produced more/better releases than Jim. Not Karl, Not Rupert. He knew how to create such an array of emotions with such little equipment. I'm referring to them by first name due to their multiple aliases, not to sound like a cu*t.
