Wow thank you for the acknowledgment. I didn’t even realize what I was going through until you so perfectly explained it. I’m making a shed without running water and appropriate electricity a home. My significant other of 2 years left, my son left and my financial situation was interesting for awhile. I held on even though I wanted to turn to so many different vices. I “sat in it”. I don’t want recognition for making more with less. If the recognition comes with a financial prize that would be cool, but I still prefer to side step any public recognition. It’s not my nature to be recognized, I received many letter of commendations, individual awards, participation in special operations missions, driven in a presidential motorcade. Men don’t enlist for recognition but for a sense of duty to their community and country. Only 1% of the population serve their country and it’s not for public recognition.
