Will water leak out the drain hole if I take the tube out to move my rodi machine?
@TheSlacker648 жыл бұрын
Can't be used on city systems that use Chloramines instead of Chlorine STAGE 2 - TWIST-IN CARBON BLOCK FILTER CARTRIDGE: Recommend replacing every 6 months. The second stage of your RO unit is a Carbon Block Filter. The Activated Carbon in the filter reduces chlorine by up to 99% and conditions the water prior to the RO Membrane.

Definitely much easier compared to the RO Buddie and classic RO/DI systems.

Hi...so why does this recommend tossing the first 30 gallons of water through the RO membrane when the manual says to flush it for just 30 minutes? If I toss the first 30 gallons, that's 7.2 hours of running it at the 100 gpd rate...

are you able to run the waste hose up and over to the sink i dont have sink capable to drill into it to allow the waste water straight to the pipe
@BulkReefSupply2 жыл бұрын
Yep, that's not a problem. With RODI systems, as long as you have a way to secure the waste water line, you're good to go.

What’s the recommended psi? Also is there any attachment or accessory i can buy to reduce waste water?

Here is the information directly from AquaticLife. Minimum water pressure: 30 PSI. Suggested water pressure: 65 PSI • Maximum water pressure: 80 PSI - Optimal Water Temperature: 77°F (25°C). Thanks for joining us! -Robert @ MD

I bought the filter system online and I just received today. It happens that the pipe beneath the sink on my kitchen is smaller in diameter. The piece that comes with the system doesn't fit, it's too big. I don't know what I'm gonna do now.

Ok. When the video says "Discard the first 30 gallons of RO produced", it refers to the purified produced water only?? or the purified water PLUS the waste water??

It is best to protect them from elements for the longevity of the filters and components. Heat will damage the TFC membrane and sun can certainly degrade the plastic components.

How far can you run the filter clean water line? My aquarium is about 50 feet away from where I'll be installing the ro di system. Would that work??
@BulkReefSupply6 жыл бұрын
You can run the water line quite far without a problem and it is all based on the input pressure. After running the plumbing, you can install a booster pump to help with input pressure. The thing to consider here is that it is not a good idea to top-off your tank directly with your RO/DI system product line. The purified water should first go into a reservoir and then be pumped into your tank or moved wherever you need it. This ensures a longer DI lifespan and reduces TDS creep.

I've just flushed my Carbon cartridge. The water was coming out at a good rate and was clear from the start. I left it running for about 5 to 10 minutes, as the water was clear. I have now connected the RO cartridge to discard the first 30 gallons but it's been an hour and 45 minutes and it has only produced 4 and a half gallons. Is this normal?
@BulkReefSupply7 жыл бұрын
The performance on your membrane can vary based on a number of factors. In your case, if my calculations are correct, the rate of production you are experiencing is about 60 Gallons per day. The units come standard with a 100 GPD membrane so your production rate is a little on the slow slide but not completely abnormal. Check to ensure you have sufficient water pressure going into the unit and be sure to use a flush valve to rinse away the membrane before and after each use.
@danny208787 жыл бұрын
By flush valve do you mean the 2 flush caps that are provided with the system? And should it just be the RO membrane and DI cartridge that should be flushed?

How many gallons does it make per day?
@BulkReefSupply5 жыл бұрын
The membrane is rated for a maximum of 100 gallons per day and this will vary depending on quality of water going into the unit and of course the water pressure.

@@Username-es1iy I would buy the cartridges separately on ebay. but it just seemed like I was changing them out often. It's a neat little system. Maybe if you had a small pico/nano.. How come when I add the ro membrane the water slowed way down?
@vladimirmarduk4 жыл бұрын
I ended up looking this up, but it has to do with RO membranes relying on high psi to push water through. So since it's a pressure based filtration, that filtration will slow the water down - it's taking time to pass through the membrane and some of the force of the original water line is lost in the push through.

Sorry for the idiotic question, but I’m completely new to this. What is the blue line? He says it’s filtered water, which would make me think this is the water one would drink, but then he says it goes to a collection tank, which sounds like water that might be discarded. If you discard the water, why not connect it to the waste line. Why collect it? If you are drinking the filtered water, there seems to be additional parts to this system that one would need to drink water from it. Thank you.
@daveisthatkid3 жыл бұрын
The collection tank collects the filtered water. It's used because this only filters 100gallons per day. Some people may store the water to then do water changes.

Aspects of this video are very poorly planned. The fact that it is put out there by Aquaticlife is sad. 1) The installed location of the twist in module unit is important. As it is shown installed, the cabinet door cannot be closed. 2) Because the long lines were not being trimmed / shortened, the long lines impedes the use use of the cabinet. The long lines which are not run properly will be snagged and pulled on as people have garbage cans and other items in the cabinet. I own this unit and am please with it, but do folks a favor. Think about how the unit is installed.
