Never understood why they simply didn’t make it like that from the start, looks SO MUCH cleaner. Nicely done sir! AquaticLife take notes!

Thanks! Yeah same here, seems like it would be an easy thing for them to do in the factory. Hopefully they'll put out a Gen2 with these features.

The newer one’s actually do….at least with the dimmable versions. The 2 outer bulbs are on the same bank and the 2 inner bulbs share a bank.

Now I have to do this...Great Job. I jut saw you in IG and I didn’t get any notification on KZbin. Glad I looked. So you basically was working with one ballast in the vid? Imma watch again.

Thank you! I just showed the process for one ballast in the video because you do the exact same modifications for each of the 2 ballasts.

What gauge wire did you use? I have the dimmable version and it mentions solid 18 gauge copper wire, however they dont come with solid wire. HD didn’t have 18 gauge wire. Thanks for the great video

This is a great mod. My fixture arrives in a couple of days so I will do this out of the box. Have you had any issues with the Ballasts since doing this and what gauge wire did you use?

What do you use for photography on your reef? Camera and lenses? Your pictures are amazing.

Awesome stuff. No grommets for the holes you drilled?
@WhatTheFrag5 жыл бұрын
I didn't have any at the time. It's not really necessary unless you are constantly moving your lights ...or rough housing with them.

I just got the same but I’m confused on how to connect my rj45 for my apex

Great vid. Thanks for sharing. Got the same lights and want to mount the G4 Pros in same configuration as you. Got the end caps and the internal mounts for the leds. But the hanging kit that came with the unit at 16” width isn’t long enough to make it 24”. What do you do to make work?
@WhatTheFrag5 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the slow response but you can buy the 24" brackets from BRS or AquaticLife.

Do you recommend this mod to this fixture or going with the LET t5's and wiring it yourself like that from the get go?
@garnettjohnson56523 жыл бұрын
I DIY my Coralife and made it so much better. I drilled holes and rewired the ballast and split reflectors. Now I have a space in the middle that I add my LED, and this is with no experience. Aquatic Life makes great light, but it don’t even come with a light switch on this so called Hybrid Model. Which is BS and for the cost.
