Am a freshwater Ecologist in New Zealand, so interesting to see the similarities and differences in our biota :)

Which of these would you expect to find also in a closed, still water environment like a large pond or small lake?

@Spencer P, also, at 2:41 Chelsea comments on the differences between a caseless, and cased caddisfly larvae, whilst the 2nd caddis (cased) is in shot, there is a smaller invertebrate almost worm-like kind of wriggling around to the left of the cased caddis, can you identify what that is? I found one in my sampling but haven't been able to link it to anything but a midge larva, is this infact a midge larva or is it a young caddis?

Thank you Chelsea. In a previous "remote learning" lesson my students learned about the importance of macros as indicators of stream health, but you really brought them to life in a BIG way. They're going to view this video next. So much better to see them moving about and the diversity all in one place.
