Live in L.A. is the greatest jazz/fusion album I have ever purchased, and this is one the best that my ears have ever heard.

Kashiwas's tone is so unmistakable on every horn. He's such a humble guy, too. I had the pleasure of working with him last summer.

One of the greatest songs ever written and played. Love these guys. I was 6 years old when I first listened to them.

The Rippingtons! The wonderful guitar of Russ Freeman and the sax of Jeff Kashiwa make this show wonderful!

I almost shed a tear seeing that young kid bopping his head at 2.45 to the music,that symbolises how much jazz has a future and a fresh faced generation are gonna carry it on.Its heartwarming as a musician like me to know that. UK bassist 👍👍

Saw them at Jazz Alley in Seattle in like 2014. Jeff Kashiwa and I crossed paths on the way to the bathroom; I felt blessed. Looks like the lineup is almost the same. I could recognize that bassist from a mile away.

Thank you very much, Mr. Rodríguez, for your upload. This is a very good recording, however, I prefer the version of "Live in L. A." with Tony Morales on drums. He has a very good taste to play.
@StreetFighter2010 Жыл бұрын
This version sounds more personal and tighter, due to the smaller space and fewer musicians. They are missing the horns section and a second piano and keyboard The Live in L.A. is just epic.

Hard to believe Russ Freeman got his start in country music. This info from a friend and former Rippington's bassist.

What are the keyboards? Anyone knows?
@kennypr6 жыл бұрын
smoothstate I think it was a D 50 and some RD down both Roland. On other videos they used a Dx7
@smoothstate5 жыл бұрын
@@kennypr You're right - no doubt that it's D-50 at the top and below I think it is Kurzweil PC88 (it has 2 wheel controls on the left while Roland uses pitch bend lever instead)
