Sepulchure/Valen has always acted on his good intentions. the Irorny is that he lacked enough power to see it through. He might've been the most skilled fighter, but before the Doomknight armor, he's never shown as even capable of magic, despite his vast knowledge. Dragonfable, his breakout game, does his character so much justice in how he is written, as we still see him grasping onto his humanity, which is symbolized by his daughter.

This is the weird thing about AQ/DragonFable/AQW characters, isn't it? They're ultra-powerful, but they'd rather send waves of disposable cannon fodder to solve their problems for them, only intervening at the last minute. Hell, Sepulchure in Dragonfable is literally set up so that the Hero can never defeat him, yet he only personally faces the Hero on a handful of occasions.

Sepulchure manipulates the main character into doing EVERYTHING for him multiple times just so he can show his superiority, also because his master (which i believe is the "mysterious stranger") told him not to kill the hero.

I always thought Gravelyn was a better ruler. I mean she managed to lay low for awhile after her kingdom was crashed into the side of a mountain. Not only that but she truly cares about her friends and is not as evil as she thinks she is. She abandoned her revenge plan to save us and surprisingly she gets along well with Victoria despite Victoria being on the side of good. Also she was the first one to contact us. Also she is willing to admit defeat which is something her father could never do making her a better and more effective ruler of the Shadowsycthe than Seplechure ever could be. She even views you the hero as her best friend.

And other detail, Lynaria was not stolen, she choosed Alteon. Valen never told anyone (apparently) that he loved her as well, then she married Alteon and became queen. Many of events that destroyed Swordhaven was causes by Chaos and Shiminuki put that as Alteon acted of free will, when he didn't. Alteon cared about the people, and even infected with chaos he was able to keep people together, and command the Alliance. And the Dethix argument would be valid IF he was not a tyrant. Because if you think that Alden was evil because he's fighting against Dethix, then Lynaria and Valen are also evil.

So...ignoring the fact that Detrix and Drakath's father were both evil sociopaths. Or that Linarya loved both of them so they decided to settle it by duel. As for Dethrix's attack, it was stated that many lives were lost that day, he suffered from that decission 2 but just as he said, not even Lynaria would have wanted lives to be lost for her own sake. Being sick doesn't make you evil. He didn't let Robina fight because he wanted to protect her which are good intentions. And it was chaos that forced him to kill his other daughter. If anything this is taken out of context. Good for a joke video. But in case some people took it seriously. Alteon also sacrificed himself to save the hero from Sepulchure's attack during AQW zombies and his very last words were of regret for his friend Valen. He knew about Artix's destiny yet trusted him and gave him the chance to prove that he can be more than just the champion of darkness. It may not be much but you can't really tell a lot about most characters. Sepulchure himself had only one shred of goodness which was his love for his daughter.

I saw this as a joke video mostly, and in that vein it's pretty funny. But really, when it comes to Valen and Lynaria, if anything those two betrayed him. Valen ignored his orders to protect the city after promising he would, and continued to come onto Lynaria the entire time she was engaged to Alteon. And Lynaria because she was receptive to Valen's advances- Throne of Darkness showed that she was running off to "chat" with Valen even on her wedding day, and years later she openly admitted to still missing her old fling with him. Alteon really needed better friends

Hero offered him to cure his chaos infection during Lionfang saga but he rejected. That was the worst his decision. And he joined the wedding party when he almost got 100% chaos infection. He is a king with bad vision.

The part where Alteon "abandoned" Lynaria for his kingdom isn't really the case in my opinion, because that's what all kings do. They see things in a very wide point of view that they can't just sacrifice a kingdom full of innocent people unguarded because of only 1 individual got kidnapped by an evil mastermind, even if it's his own bride (that's why the story of the daring knight saving the queen/princess from the dragon was made.) It's cruel, yes, but it's necessary, especially if you really love that certain person, but what can you do? As a king you're the head of the responsibility. Blinding yourself for 1 person instead of thousands of your people is not something a good king should do. This is also where Valen the knight got his role too isn't it? So it's not that much of a case, really. It's my opinion, so don't mad please, hehe.

The thing is if you do the questline as Valen and you choose to follow Alteon's orders and not attempt to rescue Lynaria it is revealed that Lynaria dies and both cities fall. In concept choosing to follow Alteon's order makes sense but in terms of the actual results, it would have been more disastrous to obey his order and it would have completely changed history. So essentially Valen only had one real choice, the problem is that can only be confirmed with time travel which would have been unknown to anyone but us.

When you think about it... Valen only became evil because Alteon stole the one he loved from him, refused to help her when she was captured, leading to Valen's death, and then rebirth as Sepulchure. And after that, even though Valen defeated the kingdom's biggest enemy and his entire army single-handedly, as well as rescue Alteon's freaking wife, he still decides Sepulchure should be banished just because of the armor he wore to do all of this. He is the one who started the fight, pushing Sepulchure out of the kingdom, leading to him meeting Noxus, and then a lot of stuff that made the Shadowscythe rise as Swordhaven's biggest enemy, and also Lynaria died. Alteon was probably such a good husband that Lynaria's grave is actually located under the Necropolis. And that's not to mention killing the dad of a 10-year-old in front of him, and banishing him from the entire kingdom. And since Alteon also created Sepulchure, he was the indirect reason Drakath became as powerful as he did aswell, eventually becoming the Champion of Chaos and destroying the world. Not to mention him doing absolutely nothing to help and laying in bed all day. He also created a 3rd and 4th villains. Maximillian and Xavier Lionfang. Both of whom betrayed Alteon and Swordhaven because they belived Alteon was unfit to rule. And who would blame them? He usurped the kingdom for himself, and ever since did nothing to help the world in its biggest crises. Also, their "there can be only pure good" mentality came from his indoctrination, after all, who else would banish a child from their own kingdom based on their family, as well as their best friend based on their armor. He didn't do everything bad, tho. On the subject of things he DIDN'T do, Alteon was nowhere to be even mentioned during the Fire Wars, when Akriloth and Drakonnan attacked. After this, Alteon was also as useful as a peanut when THE ENTIRE WORLD WAS THROWN INTO THE DARKNESS REALM BY THE MYSTERIOUS STRANGER. And during the Chaos Saga he did nothing for 96% of the time. And that's because I'm counting him standing up as something. But the worst of all... as revealed in the Chaos Finale, he knew who the hero truly was, but decided to withhold this information, (even making Artix and Gravelyn promise to not tell) that could've ended the war MUCH sooner because... screw everything. And let's not forget the single wedding night in which he caused more irreversible damage to Swordhaven than Sepulchure ever did in his whole unlifetime. No wonder the Legion, Nation, Shadowscythe, and Chaos factions are so popular... because Swordhaven is literally the worst villain of them all. And let's not forget... Nulgath gives you Void HighLord. Dage gives Legion Doomknight. Gravelyn gives you Shadowscythe General. Drakath gives you Chaos Slayer. But Alteon... he gives you Royal Battlemage. And that's the greatest crime of them all.

Ppi don't care about this . Alteon defeated an EVIL king. He as a normal conqueror tryed to get rid of his enemy's kid(s). After this, on his wedding. He also acted as a great king, who choose his city over his wife. Whit this one he showed that he really cares about the people living in SwordHaven . After these he gets attacked by Drakath. On this point he gets infected by chaos. Everything he does after this is just the chaos, not Alteon. He wouldn't kill his own daughter by himself. Alteon was controlled by chaos/queen of monsters at that point. So my conclusion is that Alteon isn't EVIL at all.

I absolutely regret choosing Good all those years ago. I know you can change your allegiance, but the problem is that you’re still locked out from Tibia’s quests (I have no idea if I spelt that right) in Shadowfall, and Gravelyn still acknowledges you as a Hero of Good in the Allegiance cutscene (which is really old by now to be fair).

If you read the "good" dialogue as you go through the story it gets darker like basically it's do everything for alteon and less do everything for others .... It's not the greater good it's the greatest good in ALTEON'S eyes , I started off as a good hero and ultamatly changed to evil as I found out the truth from doomwood what had really happened ~ she had valans child and alteon stole her away simply because he wanted her again for the greatest good in his eyes , probably only wanted her cuz he thought she was the champion of light ~ I digress .

Num Num when you get all the way down in the NECROPOLIS where the queen was burried and read the story of SEPULCHRE she secretly had gravelyn with her and they together made the champion of light .

viri ashika i did both years ago and i just re read the book and went to where the queen was buried. There was nothing about them secretly having a kid. THOUGH for some reason on page 9 parts of it were ripped and stained, was it the same case with yours? Num Num best I can say without spoiling you is the more of doomwood and other evil stuff you do the more you find out ~ the impress is the champion of light --- she is SEPULCHRE'S actual daughter and Valen was only ever with 1 women before losing himself to darkness ---- they imply it hevily kind alteon stole her she was with Valen but king alteon challenge him to a duel he couldn't decline , further it is clearly stated that she did have a child with SEPULCHRE one way or another--- it's not stated how but that's how the empress came to be

alteon is just bad at making decisions doesn't mean he's bad tho, killing his eldest daughter doesn't mean he intended to, why AE making plots so bad making alteon attend the wedding even he's sick that's a bad plot, he should be get away from their wedding or go away in swordhaven as much as possible when the chaos controls him he will go to swordhaven and terrorize it and suddenly he will kill his daughter that should be a plot than what the real one does, AE is s*ck at writing a story....

Suuuuper late to the party, but honestly not as bad as DF Alteon imo. DF Alteon's reign as king saw him being in denial that his friend was truly gone and refusing to declare war on him because he wanted to believe his friend was still there. he only effectively defended his kingdom but even so the most he did outside of protecting his kingdom was sending an army to face xan which ended in a disaster. And then his kingdom gets usurped by the rose while he is made into a puppet king essentially condemning all magic races and magic users to being hunted to make sure they dont become a "threat". His ownly saving grace is that he later acknowledges his faults and refuses to retake the crown after his daughter victoria is basically forced to become queen.
