AR-15 16 vs 20 inch barrel with PSA 20 inch 5.56 upper

The viewers have spoken and today we're comparing an AR-15 16 inch barrel vs an AR-15 20 inch barrel! I added a PSA 20 inch 5.56 upper with free floating barrel to my SBR lower and I want to see if the 20 inch barrel really is the king of 5.56 when it comes to speed and destruction. I really like the way that the 20 inch AR-15 feels to shoot, from the hold of the gun to the nearly non existent recoil. We tested the 16 and 20 inch 5.56 AR-15s again wood, concrete, and steel and they came out close!

55 grain out of a 20” is an absolute laser beam out to 300 yards. I like to run an A2 clone w/ irons in local matches just for fun. I’m definitely slower with anything in close, but at distance, out to 300-400 yards all I need to do is favor the top of the target, no need for actually holding above the target.

It's a bit late, but check the penetration capabiltity of a 16 or shorter v a20 at close distances, especially sub 50, where most engagements occur in urban environments.

While your assertions regarding iron sights are correct, you've lost the plot concerning optics. A 20 inch 5.56 is certainly ballistically superior; however, it's not automatically more accurate just because of length. Still a good video, not many like it out there.

So my question would be why wouldn't psa be a war ready rifle if you chose their upper end rifles? Why wouldn't PSA upper tier not be comparable to bcm mid tier?

This one is not their upper tier. There has been some testing where the PSAs degrade faster than a BCM or KAC but for my purposes it's a moot point.

I wasn't trying to come at you by the way, I was wondering as not everyone can afford a top tier and if for whatever reason ( hopefully not) they had to battle, it would be discouraging to hear that what they can afford isn't good enough. ​@@Barikade yeah man, no problem! These don't have the FN barrels, that's the top end as far as I know. Garand Thumb did a PSA test full auto suppressed and after like 7k rounds it was not accurate and the bcg had abnormal wear but that's pretty extreme.

If I was going to combat I'd choose an upper like BCM, Knights, etc vs a PSA but my use is recreational so I compromise to save.

I believe that a 1/7 twist is to much for a 20", but fine for a 16". The bullet turns three times in a 20" more friction and heat, then in the 16" twice. Stoners AR for automatic fire was 1/12. Simple physics. 1/9 would be better especially for rapid fire
