The indoor hull is the one with the rings. That protects the propellers from damage if you fly into a wall, but it's heavier. The outdoor hull has no rings and is more aerodynamic.

the thing weighs like 3 pounds with the indoor shell and uses alot of power to run everything, doesn't really bother me so much, but those little rc copters don't really last over 15 mins. exponential improvements to the battery would have to be made to give much longer, besides that i do give these guys credit for how much it does offer.

That button will instently shut down the power to the motors of your AR Drone This can be useful wen your for example flying indoors and to near someone or something and get panic.. your AR Drone is light and very strong it can take a hit or two

I just got a 2.0 for Christmas. My solution to the flight time limit? I'm going to buy more battery packs. Whenever it gets low - just bring it back to me, land, swap to the next fresh pack, reboot and away it goes again.

Love the ARDrone from the concept but suffers from 3 issues - 1. Pricey 2. Battery life is a joke and 3. Not enough range. The 3rd issue isn't that major because the current 50m range is decent. But 2. is a big let down. $300 for 9-10min flight time?

@ seanlong 11 minutes at 0 degrees Celsius no heavy flying is what the battery can handle Ive personally pushed my battery 9 minutes but got a distance of 2.3 kilometres from the passenger seat of my fiancé's car. Keep in mind that is really bold to do and a good way to also get your drone turned into a mushy pile of foam. :) Check my latest vids !

The AR Drone isn’t the biggest waste of money I know, but it’s way up there on the list. The software has more bugs in it than Taco Bell kitchens. It’s way over-priced for what’s in it. I’ve had mine for a month and it won’t go more than 20 feet away without losing wifi connection. If I could do it over, I’d wait for AR Drone 3.0 to come out before shelling out 350 bucks for the thing. Also, if you have a Coby device you want to use to fly it, forget about it. Bottom Line: Way over-rated.
