The Fostech binary triggers are more reliable because they eliminate the possibility of hammer follow by engaging the full auto profile. on the bolt carrier. Of course that means they require a full auto profile bolt carrier, but most of them already are.

False. Drums are meant to be used either on Semi Auto or Full Auto. Never on Bursts like these. I own a KCI Drum and a SightMark Wolverine, both products impressed me, couse none of them will ever let me down in a real life situation besides all the bs people say about them (not talking about you specifically, it's just because Drums will not work properly with binnary triggers or rapid fire)

I had similar problems with my 7.5 inch pistol in .300 blackout, FA Binary trigger Gen III and a 100 round RWB drum. The problem was hammer follow due to the tendency of pistol length AR's to be overgassed and the velocity of the bolt carrier over running the ability of the trigger to reset, or to cause light primer strikes. By experimenting with a combination of heavier recoil springs and h, H1, or even H2 and h3 recoil buffers, I found the right combination and it works flawlessly all of the time. Use the heavier hammer spring if you are using heavier grade military primers.
@landonharrison83532 жыл бұрын
His was clearly full auto tho so it’s different trigger component probably bootleg that don’t fit his rifle so somethings blocking it when it goes to feed or it’s just because you guys think it’s more practical to have a 100 round drum that weighs 10lbs instead of a 100 round clip🧐🧐🤡

wrong buffer weight, wrong spring rate, and grease your buffer tube. rapid fire creates friction which slows things down, also smooths your recoil.

I like using white lithium grease for the buffer spring, but it can get on the bolt if you're too generous. I don't see this as an issue, but if someone does, they're still better off lubing the buffer spring with the same oil as the bolt. Lithium grease nearly eliminates all the rattle

I think this setup would run flawless with normal 30 magazines. I was starting to think it had something to do with the drum mag causing the gun not to function correctly or causing it to feed to fast. A lot of guns with binary triggers that you put drums on run much better with hotter amo. If its gonna be a drum gun you can experiment with different kinds of springs and buffers and different amounts of gas and stuff and see what works the best. My fostec came with a full auto bcg and a sear to prevent the hammer following the bolt home which I imagine is his problem. Also looked like it may have been something other than binary trigger bc the gun was firing with trigger stationary in fire position. 😳
@jaylahgleason37284 күн бұрын
Maybe order a recoil spring kit too and try playing around with r with different spring rates might help
@rezinatebasshead2 жыл бұрын
binary trigger is not the same as full auto, as much as you want it to be.... on full auto the sear is engaged automatically, on binary trigger its essentially semi auto still but just firing on the pull and the release. so when you're slapping the trigger and the gun is trying to fire faster than it can actually cycle you're bound to have malfunctions. in full auto this isnt an issue because the gun cycles at its natural rate of fire and trigger pull has nothing to do with it. with a binary trigger the trigger pull DOES have something to do with how the gun is cycling. not to mention you're using drums.... not exactly the most trustworthy of magazines

There's no drum mag in the world as reliable as GI 30 rd mags or Pmags even. I prefer Gen 2 Pmags or Okay 30 rd aluminum mags, but use what you're most comfortable with. If drums are reliable in your setup (which it sounds like they are) then use them. I've just had badluck I guess; can't ever make it through a 60 or 100 rd drum. But as a wise man once said: _To each, their own!_

Don't know what your set up is, but it looks like the timing might be off.. My build is based on an Aero Precision 10.5" M4E1 pistol, carbine gas length upper and lower. A Cryptic Coatings, Misty Black, Mil-Spec M-16 BCG, JP custom centerless ground and polished buffer spring coupled to a Spike's Tactical (tungsten powder) ST-T1 recoil buffer and last but not least a Fostech ARII trigger. It has ran flawless since day one with no hiccups. I have of yet experience my first failure after approximately 1200 cycles so far. (Check my video out) I would first try to research the proper timing for your setup.. Second, put that drum away and try it with quality GI mags.. Once you have ironed the quirks out, then I would try on that drum mag. Good luck.

@@gunsnstripes4473 it could definitely be. There's a bunch of videos on tamming over gassed ARs and how to tune them for the proper lock dwell time. People like to use the term that ARs are like Legos. In reality they're not and most novice builders just get lucky they don't experience a catastrophic failure.. There's a lot variables to consider when an AR is built, which usually you don't worry about when buying a good commercially build.
