There's a part where Luca tells Croix she just wants to sing in front of people. I believe you encounter it in Phase 5, and I can't remember if you have to be on the Luca path to see it or not. The event takes place in the first city you go to outside of the starting area.

Luca intended this song to lift up the towns spirits if I recall correctly, but Luca sang this for the person she loved, you can clearly tell from the whisper section. Because that is Gurren Lagann and this is Ar Tonelico. There's a world of difference. Besides, adding MORE lore to the Ar Tonelico series would be nuts. Multiple drama CD's, a few manga spinoffs of known games. (One is set inside the first Tower, for example). And then there's the history of Ar Ciel. Visit the Ar Tonelico Wiki. Read any article on any place in any game. 90% of that isn't included in-game. Adding more would be utter madness...

@MasterFreezer AT3 have great cast as well. I have trouble deciding the revateil (well, for two of them anyway, I don't really like M-girl :P) Still I actually like the reduced number of vanguard of AT3, as in previous titles, too many vanguard means less time for them, so they're not well developed and easily forgotten. While AT3 only have 3 but they're all likeable and well developed.

So, one of Haruka Shimotsuki’s doujin album releases (canoue renatus) is a number of tracks from across the canoue albums given the acoustic recording remix, definitely recommend it (and while you’re at it the main canoue albums as well and other Shimotsuki doujin releases)

Translation could use some work. Japanese leaves a lot of pronouns out, making things a little hard to judge. But given the character in question, for instance, it seems closer to replace "the smiling faces of liars are reflected in the mirror" with "what's reflected in the mirror is a liar's smile". She's a "dorodere", a character whose heart is black and filthy, who hides her depression and cynicism and manipulative nature behind a false smile and all kinds of made-up relationships. The way I see it, this sort of tells of her wishes to find a place where she doesn't have to push herself and make stuff up, where she can be herself around those who matter to her, where she can finally open her heart and let go of the dark inside, and see a genuine smile reflected in their eyes rather than the made-up smile she sees in the mirror every day.
