the camping thing with the battles is quite cool and smart, but the actual battles look kinda rough and somehow lower quality than the entire game, seems like it was done just to be added in the game as last resort

As a Civilization veteran i can say that this look great! They put some effort in making this, it's really detailed compared to Civ, I was really disapointed after Civ6. Thanks for the video

My favorite games to play 4x mostly Firaxis Civilization series since civ 1. I have been playing games since 1978 on the Atari computer line. I only play turn based now, not into the other type of genres anymore. Thanks for showing this video we all appreciate it. I have to admit this game is really good so far, I will need a new graphics card my son indicated maybe as my old 980 is bare minimum. >:^D

This game would be interesting if u just didn't choose historical buildings and figures. Would br great if they went a more fantasy route

Good video, though just a few suggestions for easier and nicer viewing pleasure. * Try doing the tutorial first, or getting a basic understanding of the basics down. It's a bit jarring when you're spending 75% of a 40 minute video learning how to play. The viewers can feel a bit cheated, since they don't get to see much, other than tutorials. * While doing the tutorial and learning how to play before making the video, figure out ways you can play, or choose options that'll help showcase as much of the game as possible. People looking for information and lets plays, want to see as much as they can of the gameplay and mechanics.

Thank you for the suggestions. Totally understand your view point and feedback and I’ll have a think about how things can be tweaked in the future. I will say though, that isn’t the goal with the gameplay part 1 series we do generally. It’s the first gameplay session, not a showcase of the game after X hours. Regarding a tutorial, there was also no standalone tutorial. The pop ups are the tutorial which I tried my best to follow without wasting too much time getting lost in the menus and text!

15:43 Kinda really like the plot sizes/shapes in this game. I only ever play Civ as far as games like these go, so I'm unfamiliar if other games like Humanity do this, but I really enjoy how much more real it kinda makes things feel.

Seems good but at 37:08 - I feel the cinematic battle camera is too restrictive, you can't even zoom much in. I do hope that units look historically accurate to their era, because I can't recall one armed units, but I'll bear in mind this is early access gameplay and hopefully they'll iron it. The battles do make me want to play more...but please for the love of god its not that hard to research and get proper units in.
