What a good partnership for Central Asia! After centuries being wedged between two aggressive powers, it was always like walking on eggshells for these leaders! I would love to see Central Asia get more involved in renewable green energy. These countries are always at or near the top when it comes to air pollution. Bruce Pannier is my favorite guest on Eastern Express!

I’m wary given the human right track record, but this is very positive- they have abundant natural resources and high populations; they should work together rather than wait for developed nations to sort out their problems.

Putin doesn't need iran at war it will only detract from the help he is getting in Ukraine from iran.

But maybe he did want a small squabble right before US congress is to vote on Ukraine aid. A diversion that may be enough to stall said vote further. As aid for Isreal was also on the table.

Russia should be only the valley west of the Urals. anything east of the Urals should be given back to the ethnic groups that historically own those regions

I’m pretty certain it’s headed that way. Putin is old and making HUGE mistakes, the economy is propped up artificially, and the west seems to have made up its mind that it’s time to stop the Russian expansion in Ukraine. The individual Republics and oblasts within Russia are more or less arranged around cultural groups each of whom can likely function as individual nations. We (or our kids) will see!
