Why does the handler have to treat this beautiful horse with such coldness and yank at his face so?

The thing is that a horse often look prettier if it looks more wild. A horse that just is standing still doesn't show off in the same way. Wild is beautiful :')

He's so elegant. Graceful moves. Impressive coat. Its a shame he has to wear a number on the back of it.

I was always in love with arabian horses and I would be glad to become a breeder one day... but I can't stand the stress those beautiful animals are going through on shows. Shame on humans.

It's because the handler is just that A handler and not an ounce of knowledge on what he is actually asking of the horse and so this horse is so confused

Just terrible handling of that horse I would like to give that man a touch of that whip I don’t know how these shows get away with such mistreatment shocking!!!

Look at his eyes. The horse looks terrified.
@laurenrousell81175 жыл бұрын
Nancy Kennon I would say he is confused. He is getting tons of mixed signals from his handler. Instead of the handler correcting his mistakes he resorts to yanking on the horse’s face to get his attention. The handler needs to be taught how to lead a horse in hand properly.
@teej7835 жыл бұрын
That horse is super well trained. You don't know what you're talking about. The horse knows how to pose, can you?
@laurenrousell81175 жыл бұрын
teejay Trujillo I am not talking about posing. And I am not saying it is the horse’s fault either, the horse is fine. The handler is confusing the horse and yanking on his head when he doesn’t get the response he wants.

Carol Coates its like that arabians have smaller heads than any other horse
@digby36186 жыл бұрын
What has that got to do with anything?
@digby36186 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, and very sadly, many show Arabians become 'head shy' due to the constant shanking and yanking on their heads. There is a push to ban chains, but it won't end anytime soon.
@amandamitchell80194 жыл бұрын
@@digby3618 i agree its always terrible handling. They breed these magnificent creatures then give them to some jobsworth who knows nothing how to show them resulting in a nuerotic head shy horse.

I can't stand to look at high spirited horse breeds so I'm going to go to all the videos and complain about how I can't stand to watch them. Then I'm going to watch German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois dogs doing bite work because I don't like how mistreated they are because they are being made to bite.
@coollikegrass24895 жыл бұрын
Lol just because a dog is trained to bite does not mean it's been mistreated

It's people like you I'm commenting about. The horse community has got to be the most negative, judgmental group of people in the world. You criticize the handler. Have you ever handled an Arabian stallion in a prestigious show ring? I didn't think so. Looks like a well trained act to me. They're not supposed to act like a tired old trail horse. So many experts.
@coollikegrass24895 жыл бұрын
@@nitetrane98 Yes the horse community tends to be one of the most judgemental groups in the world. Pride takes a huge part in judging and creating drama. BUT there is such thing as good and justified judgement. When you put a horse wellbeing first, you speak out about poor handling like this. When you put winning first, you endorse poor handling like this because it makes the horse spirited. Speaking up against this and judging a handler or trainer based on poor handling is more than justified. It shows you care for the horse, and not for a ribbon, the money and the title.

IMO those horses are being poorly bred for the show. They are skinny, their faces have become ugly and they are mistreated to get them elevated, a characteristic that has become desirable in the show world but one that renders the horse more difficult to utilize for any work.

Nonsense. Many show Arabians have jobs to do and are ridden.
