Before the era of KZbin, I used to have these endless debates with some ex about Juan Gabriel (an intellectual ex who had a lot of good qualities and talents, but alas emotional intelligence wasn't one of them)... He used to say that Juan Gabriel's songs had stupid lyrics and period; I used to say that Juan Gabriel was a genius. Maybe not a genius the way Albert Einstein was, but a genius of emotions. A genius about combining melody, lyrics, and interpretation in the perfect artistic way to touch our hearts (normal human hearts hehe). Well, I'm seeing that lately, a lot of videos have been produced that seem to be on my side of that debate! 😉😌

Actually the second video is from 2 years before the concert in Bellas Artes(1990) . That particular tv program lasted almost 7 hours it was called "La noche que Mexico no durmio" (the night that Mexico didn't sleep)and it was broadcasted all over Mexico , the USA and it was a huge event because he has not been on tv for years and he did this special as a favor for her friend Veronica Castro (the lady who was sitting next to him) She was a big soap opera star and tv host. Thank you for your reactions to the greatest Juan Gabriel
@amyblue7267 Жыл бұрын
OMGoodness, thank you for reminding us of that night - la noche que Mexico no durmio! I had forgotten about it. I watched parts of it with my mom. She watched the whole thing, and I would periodically go into her room and ask, "Todavia sigue?" not believing that it was still going on. Wow... what memories! Breaks my heart that my mom's not here anymore. I would've loved to be able to show her reaction videos like these. She would've been so proud that her Juan Gabriel was so appreciated and respected by people who don't even know the language but can feel the emotion in his voice.

He is the only pop singer that has been allowed to present in the Palacio de las Bellas Artes, which is the most important recint in Mexico for any artist. At the begining of the concert he is mumbuling to the people, asking them to sing along so he is not the only one to ever have singed with the Orquesta Filarmonica Nacional. In the next video, he is with Veronica Castro who had an entreteinment show called "Mala noche no", "Not a bad night", that pogram with Juan Gabriel lasted more than 9 hours and he singed like 8 hours.

Juan is relentless. Relentlessly seeking your heart and soul. Besides his immense talent and drive to improve his talent and career there is, under it all, Juan's pledge to himself, from a young age, to share his pain and joy through music - to alleviate and elevate humanity. It's love. At the core of every Juan's song is the deep, deep, deep beating heart of Juan's beautiful heart.
