Hearing them sing this live is a great experience. And the sea shanty Chance has written (Skull and Bones) is an absolute killer.

This video went so viral for Home Free that a game group went to them and asked them to write and record a song for their new game "Skull & Bones". I think you would love it, especially how low Tim goes (an octave lower than the rest of them).

good to see you back with Home Free....you should also react to their live version, shot at a concert....the energy from the crowd kicks Home Free into high gear...you can tell they love performing, andthey sound just like their recording...they are that good.

Yeah when HF did this during the pandemic it went viral and attracted Ubisoft, the game maker, to them. They asked Chance to write a shanty for their new game Skull and Bones. Chance (in the red hat) wrote a banger! Check out Skull and Bones! It’s great. Chance loves shanties and came up with this combination of songs. I only knew 2 of them. Good one! 😃😍

Did you catch the castanets and the sounds of waves in the last sea shanty? All done by Adam Rupp, beatboxer extraordinaire.

How good are these guys? The fun & energy in this is infectious. This was done during quarantine so none of the guys were even together. The editing of this was great & was done in the Tik Tok style. Love all the guys parts, with Tim's rumbling bass underlying it all. And Adam's beatboxing is phenomenal as always including sea swells & castanets. Amazing how he increased the tempo from one song to another. They recently released a professional live recording of this medley.

I know Drunken Sailor from an old 1950 black and white TV show about Sherlock Holmes, when in a harbor pub there's a waitress who is also the entertainment, who sings it. I particularly enjoy the casta-nots (mom always had castanets in the house when I was a kid).

Fun fact: the sea shanty "Leave her, Johnny" was written in the early 1800s by a time traveler from the 2020s specifically to try to warn a fellow pirate about impending doom. You might know some of these shanties from Ass Creed 4, you collect these papers in towns and unlock what your guys sing when you're sailing

Great reaction to our #HomeFree guys! They were VERY busy keeping us entertained throughout lockdown, putting out a new video almost every 2 weeks!! This was definitely a fun one to watch, but there's so much more to discover with Home Free. Please go down this rabbit hole, it's worth the journey and we'll be here to watch you react and fall in love with their music and antics - from silly to serious and everything in-between - you won't be disappointed!!!

I don’t know if you play Assassin’s Creed games but if you do you might have recognized Leave Her Johnny from Black Flag. Ubisoft heard their Sea Shanty Melody and loved it and approached them with an an amazing opportunity to write a shanty for Skull And Bones video game they are releasing.Chance loves sea shanties and everything to do with the sea and loves gaming he jumped at this amazing opportunity to write this .They released an amazing official video of Skull And Bones. They also did a Lyric video sang a shorter version live at Ubisoft Live Premiere.

People who played Assassin creed Black flag will know these. Also sea shanties are meant to originate from the Americas. However, the idea of singing on ships dates back a lot longer. Like Spanish Ladies from around 1620. A British song, used by sailors.

We absorb music by living in a culture? Sea shanties are part of English-language culture, especially for children. That's my guess. The Wellerman (singular) video you showed on screen isn't the one by Nathan Evans. It's by several other TikTok singers who did a group cover and named themselves The Wellermen (plural.) Both went viral, but Nathan was first. Thank you for returning to Home Free! P.S. The last song is "Santiana." Great song.

Home Free gave us a new song every 2 weeks during lockdown.🥰 Home Free is more light, less intense then PTX ad Voiceplay. Do you know which face goes with each voice? You don't use their names, but probably know their faces. You might be ready for Mayday.

I have two more sea shanties you might like to react to. Drunken Sailor brings an old friend back to perform with VoicePlay, as well as a former member from their earliest days. And please don't forget that the video isn't over when the song itself ends. The Bass Gang chose a slower sea shanty, the four deep bass voices adding a rather darker tone to Jolly Sailor Bold. Enjoy!
@joyvanderveer22828 ай бұрын
Oh your group of choice, Voiceplay, did their own version of "Drunken Sailor" that is a banger. You really should look into it too.

You know Drunken Sailor, presumably, because of VoicePlay's absolutely ridiculous cover of it. Although you may have known it even before that; it's a well-known song.

There was a small game called Assassin's Creed : Black Flag that had most of those songs in it ... but not many people played it ... was NOT popular at all
@LynnRamsay8 ай бұрын
Small game 😂😂 you must not be a gamer. I honestly don’t know where you get your info but Black Flag was and still is very poplar and many people play it. It’s number 1 on IGN and on couple other sites it ranks between 3 and 7 on the top Assassin’s games. It’s one of my favourites I’ve played and finished it over 15 times.FYI Skull and Bones the game was supposed to be a DLC to Black Flag
