Just thinking how at 4 or 5 years old she was already attacking her ambitions in life, her goals she had set for herself, with a reported 6 hours a day of practice. What child at that age has the knowledge to know that it takes more than mere talent; and more important, has the will power to actually work that hard to accomplish the goals and ambitions she had set for herself? She is a miracle child like no other! And at the same time her heart has always been the biggest and strongest organ in her body! I was thinking just how good she has been since her beginning with that first recording studio take when she was 6! And how she is the most uplifting force in music. Boudy, keep the chin up. We love you too. Your attitude is the very best. Angelina put in a huge effort after winning Norway's Got Talent. She got her Uncle Michael as manager, with him and family, hired a full-time band and for the next three years she worked hard at her craft and has never stopped the perfection that we see.

I have the same recurring thought every time I listen to her sing 'FOR US'. That's exactly what it is, she is singing 'FOR US'. She is reaching into our hearts with her love and once our hearts open up and receive her love it will never leave us and we, in turn, return our love to her. Vocally and artistically she is extraordinary and what touches us is 'who she is'. She is always refining her art, her gift she was born with but even in that regard it's more than that. She sang 'Gloomy Sunday' at 7 years old employing a work effort that we associate with a seasoned veteran performer. How can a 7 year old have such depth in their thought process to accomplish such a thing? When we stack everything together is it any wonder why we are in total awe of her and have a belief there is hope for humanity by spreading our love to each other? Does she inspire us? Inspire us to be kinder, more caring and loving than ever before in our lives? Yes, absolutely, yes. And her biggest challenge is to touch the hearts of people who have chosen to close the door to their heart and not allow love in. I believe with all my heart she can do that. Those people will find themselves one day in a vulnerable state of mind and somewhere, somehow they will hear Angelina sing 'for them' and they will begin to sob and when the song is over their life will be about to change! No one can resist her love. And, ALL OF US will follow her lead and share our love with people in our lives. What I just said is a true story.......

There is a video of Grandma Mery in which you can see her recording at night where Angelina fell asleep at the piano while she is writing new music, she is an incredible young woman who gives everything for her dream without losing respect for the music. Angelina and Egil jam session! One take and done! Such talent is unmatched! Egil is a family friend and has been doing jam sessions with Angelina from 7-12 years old while in Norway! Probably first take. She is reading the lyrics as she goes. I believe she was only 12 years old here. Perfect imperfection LOL. Angelina is the best singer for me no matter what she does. These home sessions is for me, despite the obvious errors she makes - very good. She is human after all. She has this tremendous talent. Never seen anything like it in the last 40 years. She is going to be going places. And I really hope that I will be exactly where she goes. Angelina LIVE is just the best musical experience I've ever had. One important point - the "home recorded videos" that you see with Angelina and Egil or IVan Mendez were not extensively rehearsed before the recordings - How Angelina worked on these is that she and the guitarist would do a quick run-through to make sure the chords were correct get familiar with the lyrics and then they would shoot the video - usually in one take - sometimes two. In fact, on many of the home videos, you will notice that Angelina might be reading the lyrics off her tablet or computer screen - for more details - you should watch the separate interviews that Alan Papier conducted with Egil and Ivan where they discuss how Angelina worked with them.

Prompted by what you were saying at the end (but not a direct answer to it), here's what I have said in the past about, let's say, "breakout success" of the sort that "we all" want for Angelina. There are basically two ways of achieving that: (1) make a "big splash" and ride that wave for all it's worth; or (2) just fill up the reservoir bit by bit, slowly over time, and wait for the moment that the dam bursts. While Angelina has had more than one "big splash" in her career, she and her family are clearly still, to this day, sticking with the second approach. I continue to be amazed at their superhuman patience in this regard. In particular, Angelina has wanted to be a "superstar" for the majority of her life (perhaps since before she even had the ability to put that feeling into words). I don't know how she has been able to stand it, just waiting for that moment when she can totally "go for it" and make that happen. Everyone thought for sure that her signing with Republic Records heralded That Moment, finally, when she would make that Big Push into major mainstream success. But, no, she just took the opportunity to expand her catalog of originals a bit, and record some better quality music videos (among other things). Was she trying to make that Big Push and failing? I would say, clearly, no. The record company obviously _could_ have promoted her more, but they didn't. That must have been because her family didn't want it. That must have been part of the deal she agreed to. OK… But then everyone saw glimmers of That Moment with the release of her _Old Enough_ EP (which happened, presumably, around the time she graduated from high school), and then her Portsmouth concert, and then her 18th birthday, and then, most recently, her shows in Vegas. Every time, it turned out… not so much. She announced these things on her socials, and… that's about it. No Big Push. She recently revealed that she is taking classes at Juliard. Is that why this is still not The Moment? Is she actually working towards a college degree? Is that why she is still not making that Big Push? Will there _ever_ be a Big Push? We don't know. Maybe she will spend her entire life just doing things here and there, and there will never actually be a Big Push, because that would require her to give up an amount of control she is not willing to part with. If that is the case, then more power to her (literally!). (Note, BTW, that she continued to talk about being an "independent artist" even after signing with Republic. That would seem to be connected to that issue of control.) In Vegas, on stage, she talked about a new set of recordings, including "Princess of Ruins", that are "ready to go" (I might be paraphrasing). Before that, on one of her socials, I believe she alluded to an upcoming "tour" (although to what extent that was "actual" vs. "aspirational" was, AFAIR, not clear). Will those be part of a Big Push, or just more "things she will do"? I guess we shall see…

This song makes me always think of Angelina's compassion. How can a six-year-old girl understand the plight of a homeless girl she briefly meets and have the experience go so deeply into her heart she writes a book about it. That quality of mercy is in every note Angelina sings. I always think about this when listening to her, but especially this song. What was I thinking about? I reread her book today and I was thinking about her encounter with the girl she called Princess. I think one of the things you wanted to point out, but may not have even realized was about child prodigies. How many child prodigies come along that just wind up fizzling out? The ones who exhibit tremendous talent at a young age, but seem to lose their luster as they grow up. They have all that talent and think that’s enough. My thoughts drifted to the song Billie Eillsh sang at the Oscars awards show. So intimate soft and personal. Just her and her brother on piano. Then her reaction at getting a standing ovation from the crowd. The moment one artist could only dream of. I know I’m not alone longing for Angelina someday soon having moments like Billie had. It’s part of the human condition to feel like something is missing and something is wrong with the world. Because it’s true. We keep searching for answers to cure and heal us and our surroundings. Music has been one art that goes to the core spirit of hopes and dreams for that change we are seeking. Together with help from above we eventually will get there. With palm branches in our hands. Singing a new song. One of redemption.

When I watch and listen to Angelina sing, I don't really think of years past, I mostly feel what this lovely being is singing and, because it is Angelina, it's always a feeling of love. She is such an emotional being it's easy to get caught up in all that feeling, all that goodness. Her talent draws us in and most of us don't want to leave...not because of her talent, which will always be over the top, but because of that very enchanted and loving soul.
