I have a deposit on a 2022 monkey, hope 1st gear is lower and the slight compression bump helps out throughout the rpm range. The exhaust is also supposed to have been revised to a single chamber muffler and smaller cat. was this true on the grom? also lookin forward to the better rear shocks as I am a bigger guy, anywhere between 210-260, just depends on beer and good food intake lol

I like how your tricking out your new bike! Kind of found out the hard way that the 140 rear 120 front throws off the aspect ratio and has a negative effect on handling. best to stay with the 130/120 arrangement at lest for a race track environment.

Can you explain more about the aRacer temperature compensation (#5) on what would it be the best set up for koso 170cc with all the upgrades. Im having a weird vibration when hitting 70s mph.
@goldenpond19473 жыл бұрын
Hi! First of all tks for all your sharing videos on Monkey it really helps me a lot. I have a question that my 2020 Monkey handle bar vibrates a lot, yet my cousin's Monkey is literally no vibration(bought 6 months a part) . Wat cold be the problem or setting I should check? I have removed catalyst converter and replaced aracer super 2, increased idled, bar end weights... Still vibrates a lot. I noticed voltage is only 11.4v at idle, could this be the problem?
@eastcoastish3 жыл бұрын
Does it vibrate at idle or only at certain speeds? Vibration is usually wheel balance (although I don't think Honda even balances these little 12" wheels)

Sorry to bother you on this build but I need help on the correct throttle cable for my 72' CT70 with the 125cc Lifan engine like you did some time back. Standard cable is to short. Please help.
@eastcoastish3 жыл бұрын
Throttle cables are tricky because it really depends on what throttle you have and what carburetor you have. Different carburetors have different length tubes coming out of the top, and some have adjusters and some don't. Reach out to Vince at tboltusa.com and he should be able to recommend the best fit for your application. I've started just buying long cables and then cutting it down and soldering on a new end so the fit is perfect but tbolt should have something that will work for you.

Did you ever go back and check and time the cam correctly, as I stated you set the cam to the ignition timing F mark not the T timing mark.
@eastcoastish3 жыл бұрын
Yeh I replied on the other comment, it's timed to the T mark, the compression of the piston wouldn't let it sit straight at the T without holding it which is why you see it closer to the F.

@@roydenvickers Mine's just under 200 miles. Yeah 55-58 is my typical top speed, but sometimes as low as 52, and I don't ever see 60 normally. On a short downhill, I got to 65 tucked. If I baby the bike in 5th gear at lower speeds, the mpg can get insane 150+ but that's boring lol.

I got mine at Autozone, but I've since realized that I don't need to have stand alone power for the AF1, you can plug the AF1 power cable directly into the RCMini 5 for power which is a cleaner solution.

What's the impact of running the Aracer without the AF-1 to auto-tune? you would just select a pre-map with your exhaust and intake selected?
@eastcoastish3 жыл бұрын
There aren't really any tunes yet; the only tunes that come loaded on the new aRacer is stock and 170cc big bore kit with cam and intake and injector; not sure why since I don't believe a 170cc bb kit even exists for this engine yet. If you're just going to do exhaust + intake + cam or some combo of them, check out DHM, he's got flashes available for the stock ECM.
