Thank you, Kiana, for this! I am mesmerized watching and listening. My daughter worked on this piece in elementary school and returned to it for her high school recital. When I found your rendition I sent it with this note: The thing I loved when you played this was how much feeling you gave it. Some of the renditions I listened to, it’s as if they’re thinking, “Oh, it’s a toccata. An athletic achievement type of thing. Let’s be all manly about it.” Then they bang it out like a machine. I chose this version because the running time was almost a minute longer. And I’m sending it to you because it has swells and dips, just like you did it. These are some fond memories for me. Very nicely performed! 2:57-3:03 is very reminiscent of the ending of the first movement of his piano concerto (almost at the end of the Cadenza).
