Another great review Ramsey! What I’ve always smelled after the tobacco note was Bay rum. It always reminded me of what the barber would slap on my face when I was a little kid after getting my haircut. Keep up the good work !!😊

Almost all “ fragrance reviewers “ are likely to follow absurd trends and just to get the most of views , but that’s not what this hobby is about. A true connoisseur, collector delves into uncharted territory of the forgotten perfumes . I feel cringe when most of them they just don’t want to get to know more scents , or explore . Like if it’s just about the hype or what’s new. So many fragrances out there which haven’t been reviewed yet , expecting to get reviewed. That’s why us aficionados chose your channel because they just don’t dare or feel like doing this kind of stuff. The best channel for fragrance reviews on KZbin. PERIOD!

Hi Ram! I’m your new subscriber, I discovered your channel only several days ago when I was searching for the alchemist’s garden reviews, I’ve looked through your videos and I think you have a genuine talent for sharing your passion for fragrances, I think I should say I’m your new student:) Could you please share with us your knowledge about the way you store fragrances? I’ve always wondered about the expiration date and the way one can have a fragrance collection and keep a fragrance unaltered with time, how long can a fragrance last in your opinion?
@RamseytheRam2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the support and welcome to the channel! As far as storing fragrances goes just keep them out of the light & away from the bathroom where humidity can damage the fragrance

This one is a personal favorite of mine. Never got my nose on the old blue cone bottle but LOVE the DNA. Picked up Rogue Tabac Vert hoping it would be a replacement but was a little let down. Havana an all-star this time of the year (early autumn/late summer). Great stuff, Ram! Thanks for covering this one.

Have you tried Montana Parfum d'Homme (tower of Babel bottle in the red box?) Many, including myself, think it and Havana are very similar. Unfortunately, it too is now discontinued, so I'm not sure about prices, but it also used to be dirt cheap.

Great take Ramsey. Just bought a still-sealed backup last week for a pittance. Assumed the line was discontinued a while ago. But it definitely has that weird "humid" or muggy type of accord that you mentioned in the opening. Takes some getting used to. Cut that out, crank the cloves to 11 and I basically get Bracken Man. I do prefer the Amouage though. Now to find me a bottle of JHL for a pittance. 😂

These are the fragrances that make me love the hobby. When you find something really nice and memorable for $20, it just feels like such a huge win. I really wish there was a way to preserve the production of every fragrance, because it's been discontinued again sadly, and going for $75 about. Great scent, it's a throwback, I think it was a bit of a throwback even then. Smells like something to wear to a Halloween party, and you're dressed up as an Italian gangster or something.

I have Havana, O.G. Aramis, JHL, Tobacco Reserve & Aramis Special Blend from Aramis house. Blind bought Havana almost 20 years ago and wasn't sure that I liked it much. Set it aside; came back to it later. My taste have changed within the last 12 years. I love it now! It was cheap as chips at one time. ($20.00!). Very classy gentlemanly tobacco spiceness. Theirs also a tequila/agave vibe I get from Havana. Nice to see you give it some recognition. Get your hands on Aramis Special Blend too if you can. Would like to hear your thoughts on that one

Love this one because it reaches deep into my scent memory. Growing up our family only used one soap - Dial Gold. Have you tried it? If not, go to any CVS and buy a bar and smell it, then spray Havana and get hit with there rich spicy clean similarities. This one wears well in hot weather which is rare for tobacco scents. Please do a review on Montabaco Verano Ormonde Jayne when you can.

Thanks Ramsey. I am very interested in real tobacco scents, fresh and dry (freshly rolled tobacco and lit tobacco). I know practically nothing of tobacco (and am a neophyte fragrance lover of 55) other than what a good cigar or pipe smells like when another person smokes it, walks by, etc.... as attractive to me as the scent in the air of beautiful fire smoke from a house or chalet close by. So, I have a sample of Rogues Tabac Vert, and I find it clean and fresh. Not sure if it has potency, but matters not much. Dare I add that I also have a sample of Pegasus and bottle of Red Tobacco, which, to me, are too syrupy sweet- attractive, but not what I'm looking for. That's all for now. Will check this one out

I got Havana , 900, and 3 bottles of Tuscany . The Aramis line is a superb 👌 pedigree . They come from the house of Estee Lauder . I wish I had doubles of 900 and Havana now . Bowling Green , Bogart Signature , Havana , and 900 prices sky rocketed in a matter of two years . I imagine some engineer or architect from Washington who listens to parsons project wearing these colognes . Makes me think of 70s colors like orange green and yellow . I see suede wallaby shoes and turtle necks . Hold on I think I hear Ventura Highway by America playing . Have a great day Bro Montana

Tuscany no one even knows how the nonturned smells, the newest formulation smells like a turned vintage, and 99% of vintage are turned, same thing with Versace L'Homme - two of the most turnable fragrances, When Tuscany is pristine it smells similar to Signoricci. All three of them, the colour of the juice should be bright as possible, the darker/yellower it is, the worse the smell. Also beware of greenish color Versace L'Homme, it's turned.

There was a sears in my town that was closing down like a decade ago. Because they were shutting down, I managed to scoop up a 100 mil tester of Havana for $5. For some reason, even after half a year of progressively steep discounts, no one picked it up, I had to swoop in and pick up this gem the week before they completely closed their doors, which is why it was only 5 dollars.

oh no, not Havana. When I started my journey (started with Lorenzo Villoresi back in 2018. Until then I was a single/signature scent guy), I wondered into the blind buy venture, like all beginners. My first/only/last blind buy was of Havana and Devin. Ordered them together. Reviewers raved about them... just like you. One spray, and I understood how personal noses, skins and tastes are. Since that single blind buy, I never blind buy. Must test on my skin. Havana was cloying on me, and Devin was off putting to the extent I had to wash it off immediately.. My skin and my nose are very VERY picky. I gave them to my brother, who enjoys both of them... different skin and different nose. Funny thing is, my brother couldn't stand Devin on my skin either, and on the other hand, I did like it on his. And ever since that experience, I've turned my back on vintage. I can't explain it. Even the great vintage Kouros doesn't appeal to me anymore. Havana and Devin ruined the vintage experience for me :) :( that's why I started with 'oh no, not Havana' The only oldies that I still use today are Eau Sauvage, and the original/Italian DGPH... and when I run out of them, I won't be looking for them anymore. Thanks for your informative review, as always, a pleasure to listen to.
