A long time ago there was an AMV at 60fps which focused in quite violent scenes from Monogatari. That made me think that it was just the pretentious shounen of those years and I slept on it. Until one day last year I decided to watch it. And I couldn't stop. Monogatari is a real slide show at sometimes, but when it animates, it really does. And there isn't no need to talk about the lore.

It's really hard to summarize this anime. But in short, he's part vampire and can take it. The reason he gets it is because a lot of these women have had encounters with or are themselves supernatural, and are at the same time often somewhat unstable. Also he's a pervert.
