Nice to watch guys surf with style for once! Dad and son both rip. Lived in NZ for a couple years when I was younger, and fondly remember surfing in Taranaki for a few months! Great waves, and quite uncrowded by my Cali standards.

Such a beautiful video. Makes me want to go back home to the west coast and spend the days surfing and laughing with family. You fellas give off such nice vibes and shred too. Get tai onto the twinny hey dad... once he sees how much better they work, he’ll never get off it ay. 🙏 😊 🌊

Super-nice vid. You and your kid surf well but don't talk about it. You got an easy vibe. And, well, New Zealand. Been there a couple of times. Would live there in a minute.

Just 17 when I first went to Taranaki from Chch looking for surf adventure. Went back and spent 4-5 years there at the age of 19. It's cool to watch this thanks. Seeing the mountain for the first time was a highlight. I remember seeing it from near Stratford I think it was so amazing and other times coming that same route at night the moon low out over the ocean looks so big it really is an amazing place. Yeah not to mention the surf haha.

Just trying to ride out my lockdown level 4 blues and this was sooooo good to watch. Reminds me of my youth as a Whanganui grom, heading up the coast with my God father and his son and freaking my shit out at Mangahume in a 4m swell, on a soft foam boogie board I got at Kmart... 30 years later and still a grom!! Beautiful surfing to watch, by the way. Cheers for sharing.

Watching your vids are enjoyable and torture at the same time. Nothing but crumble and closeouts here in So Cal for weeks on end. Despite what the surf mags say , it rarely gets good around here. Watching all the points you guys are blessed with over there is mind blowing. Some times you guys pass on breaks that are firing and I'm like " Noooooooooo" !! Your killing me. If I had the worst of New Zealand's waves here where I live I would be in bliss. Would love to come visit your land but not wearing the face diaper or getting the jab jab. Enjoy !!!

As a Santa Cruz native I lived in NZ for a couple years and I sorely miss it. Waves in Santa Cruz are actually quite similar to these set ups in Taranaki from the video where I lived for a bit, but way more crowded here... Definitely miss NZ. More points on both coasts than anybody could imagine with 1% the number of people on them. Special place.

Surfed Mungas and sky williams for 20 years great waves when its on
@xkoociesyt68704 жыл бұрын
Mungahume never worked much , more ridable waves at Sky Williams , not so good after the bay was dredged for shingle for the on shore Maui at Oaonui. Before this Sky Williams was lined with kelp . The dredging also caused a lot erosion causing a loss cliffs and lost the road to the beach . I owned that property for a number of years .David Harvey

Great Father Son adventure documentary! Thank you for sharing. Years ago I traveled from my home here (East coast USA) to NZ, I surfed up and down the east coast of the North Island, hit some really obscure places, Whiritoa, Whangamata- The waves were really fun and the people were fantastic- The best part was I left USA in January- freezing cold- and of course NZ was in summer. NZ is one of the best surf destinations on Earth!
