I am wondering if you could have drilled a hole or two straight onto the prinsu rails and attached the awning to the rails to keep the height low.
@BackCountryQuestCanada3 жыл бұрын
There is already a cut in rails of rack, it can be bolted to rack as well but then it touch the head . I wanted to have it few inches higher. But it is possible to have it in rack rails too.

If you turn your cross members over there are openings at the end of the slots that you can drop your anchor points/bolts in without removing the ends of the crossmember. Love the idea of the taller anchor points on the awning mounts!

I think that option is available in new cross bars. But I will double check for sure. Thanks for reminder.

I think you have the crossbars on the Prinsu cab rack upside down. I noticed you had to unbolt the crossbars to slide the bolts into the rails. I'm not sure if you would still be able to mount the bracket with the crossbars mounted the other way though. If you have the crossbars mounted the other way then you can add or remove bolts as needed without having to unbolt the crossbars from the side rail, you will notice 2 staggered spots that are wider near the side rail.
@BackCountryQuestCanada5 жыл бұрын
I think I have older corss bars but I will double check and make sure if they are in right direction. But I am sure news ones are better ones where we do not have to open it every time.

While the lock is a good idea its gonna be extremely annoying bouncing around and hearing that metal on metal clunking on your roof
@BackCountryQuestCanada4 жыл бұрын
I had it on since I made this video and travelled all the way to Arctic Ocean. It does not make any noise as it does not have any room to move, if it does it can be easily tied down but I never had to do so.
