Probably the best video explaining the rats nest of wiring with the ARB compressor. Good job 👍

Great video! I used some aluminum for a custom panel I made like you did. When you need to cut non-round holes, I marked the shape and drilled a pilot hole and used a hand held jig saw.

Just be aware that if you don’t use it frequently, that some of the arb connections parts aren’t stainless steel and they rust internally closing the airflow. It happened to me and after dismantling the lines I found the culprit. Thy symptom was, the compressor run for 1-2s and stopped, since it has the pressure cut off switch. Otherwise the arb are very good compressors, I use them for almost 20 years. Mainly twin pumps.

Loveee the video!!! Do you have a wire diagram???? 😊

Great video, thank you. I know you said you didn't have the part number for the brass connector, but where did you get it?
@RibeyeconAdventures Жыл бұрын
hi, I got that part from Northridge4x4
@meltaylor1374 Жыл бұрын
@RibeyeconAdventures thank you. After some searching, I found out that they are called bulkhead fittings, and I was able to source one locally.

Love the detail!!! Great video! I know you said you don't have a P/N for the piece that attaches to the chuck. Can I find that at a hardware store or did you purchase online??

Hi, thank you for watching! So I purchased the compressor and parts from the same shop that worked on my jeep’s suspension. I was talking to the mechanic about installing the compressor, he told me i needed that part and just gave it to me. It was not in a package or anything, so I don’t know if it is custom made or not. My recommendation is to contact wherever you are getting the compressor from and show them the pic of that part. They most likely know what it is. Sorry i was not able to help more.

Hey thank you for watching!

You bet. I have a wk2 that I’m getting ready to install a single piston arb compressor on. Even though we have different models. Your video was very helpful. I will probably end up doing some variation of what you did. For now I’m going to do a temporary install for now and change the location later. Feel free to checkout my channel.

@@GrandExploration I am glad the video was helpful. Yeah, doing a temp setup is a great idea, it lets you try it out on a few trips and then making the final install after knowing what works and what doesn't. I just finished a trip, the only thing I would change is installing the chuck somewhere on the outside (would require drilling into the body), instead of under the seat, so that I would not need to keep the door open while airing up. I am looking forward to checking out your setup. Just by looking at the thumbnails, your Cherokee looks sweet!

Outstanding video!! Thank you for the detailed post. For the life of me I couldn't remember where I had tapped in to power for that red/yellow line when I originally installed my compressor. I had to rewire stuff for a stereo and the compressor no longer worked because I had unhooked that wire. Your video helped me solve the problem. Thanks again!!
Do you have any install info on the wire loom track for the refer? Mine is getting caught in the mechanisms and messing up the wiring.
@RibeyeconAdventures Жыл бұрын
Can you clarify what you mean by "track for the refer?"
@jscribn Жыл бұрын
On you video it looks like you have the power cord for the refrigerator in a "track" that keeps it out of the slide mechanism. It looks like a clean install and I was just looking to see if you had any install info on it, anymore pictures of it in the vehicle, or where you got it from. Thanks@@RibeyeconAdventures

Is the blue/white wire actually needed??
@RibeyeconAdventures8 ай бұрын
hey, just saw your question. The Blue/White wire is only needed if you want the switch to light up, but it is not required for the compressor to operate. I did not connect it b/c I could not get anyone to tell me which wire it is in the Jeep JK, but the compressor works fine without it being connected, my switch is under the seat so I don't need it to light up. Thank you for your question. I hope this helps.
@markf99892 ай бұрын
I imagine you can splice it with the red/yellow wire to the cigarette lighter/power source if you want illuminating light
@Chris-sf2cp5 ай бұрын
You could of removed those black wires going to the compressor switch, those wires are only the negative in case you are using the illumination lights. All you need is the red/white from the ignition to the switch then the other side of the switch is the red that just goes to the pressure switch
