@@hippymad1tbf in modern militaries marines are amphibious units and often used in land campaigns well after their initial naval deployment. The fact that normal marines often drop pod from space makes them very much like IRL marines who specialise in coastal assaults.

I loved the bit in Blood Reaver where they stormed the base and the critically wounded Marine tries to prop himself up so his brothers can use him as a shield - it's a nice bit of camaraderie, shows off how inhumanly tough the Astartes are, and it's a great visual spectacle.

Gotta say, sometimes I see why the retro colour schemes and chaper heraldry gets changed, but this one, I like the retro better. Also, miss those beak helmets. Edit: And good grief, the Eagle Warriors symbol is **definitely not** a terrible Ultramarine's imitation of the far superior Emperor Children at all 🙄 [/end sarcasm]

Badab is one of the best stories in the setting, a mini heresy in a lot of ways. A conflict, started with 'noble' intentions, slowly twisted into something darker & more malevolent as time passes. Not to mention we get some fantastic chapters to explore 😊 I'd love to see badab return with a 2.0 similar to Heresy.

I would assume the Primaris reinforcements brought them back up to full strength or more, and with the tehnology to create new Primaris Space Marines, they don't really have to worry much about losing the firstborn gene-seed. But I could be mistaken. Also, Aaron Dembski-Bowden is an amazing author - I just only recently read the Red Corsairs and Night Lords' raid of Vilamus in the Night Lords trilogy!

Probably one of the best things to come out of the Badab War - a bunch of otherwise obscure chapters got a hell of a lot of great lore. In this case, a chapter going full on Knights of Malta rather than Knights Templar. Great breakdown on their history and culture here as well. Out of curiosity though, there was a point where their colour switches from blue white to blue silver, any idea why that happened?
@tabe88503 ай бұрын
If I may give constructive criticism. This video is very good, you explain lore well. You showing a pic of your Marines Errant army is amazing. But it is a lore video and there are so many channels that do that. Where you really shine for me is explaining, not the actual lore, but the development of the lore ideas. Your HH history video is amazing. It doesn’t go in depth, point by point, details of HH lore, but illustrates the development of GW’s ideas - from heresy taking place over a span of weeks by a general named Horus, to what we know today. I would love to know when Magnus was first mentioned by GW. Or Malcador. Or why GW specifically chose DA, SW, BA and Ultramarines as the first chapters to explore. I can find dozens of channels explaining lore on YT, but I would rather know how those characters and chapters came into existence, and how they changed over time. Honestly, you are the only channel who seems to come close to answering those types of questions - and that’s what differentiates you from other channels.

In other words the chapter they got it's collective butts handed to them during the badab war, with the only thing to show for it was a planet handed to them like a participation trophy. Which was then invaded by said chapter that handed said butts to them on silver platters previously.
