It looks to me the example at 7:25 is not the best "path" for the maple tree-- there's a 1-2-3-4-5-7 path, when Dan here describes it as just a 1-4-5-7 pat. The 2 & 3 to on the left can be included in the ascending path for the score.

This was the best rules explanation for this game. Watched multiple videos about the scoring and none of them were good at explaining the odd scoring mechanic. Great job, I hope other people watch this because of the reprint!

Great review :) At 7:12, could you have gone "1-2-3-4-5-7"?

Yes! Good move!

Thanks for that. I wondered why Dan did not use the 2 and 3 for scoring. :) This will hit the table tonight!

Another good review. Looks like it would be fun. ... very tempted to pick this up.

The way it scores at the end reminds me a little of biblios...the whole idea of only the person with the most of that color scores the points...very cool

The artwork is nice. I was excited about this when it was announced because I thought the original theme was a great idea. As is the theme could really be anything, so that's disappointing. This will be a sad pass for me. Here's hoping somebody makes a thematic game about building an Arboretum

Did you play the rule where you choose a new card form a supply of 3, instead of drawing off the top of the deck? Apparently this rule was missing from the English copy.

Don't really like building something for others to score. But i like same mechanic of building an ascending or descending row of cards of one suit in Keltis.

This remind me "For Sales" and dominoes. I think I stick to Splendor when it comes to puzzle games. Thanks for reviewing this game

Whoa, those are some beautiful cards! I also like Lost Cities, so I might get this one, even though it's slightly overpriced I think.

I liked everything until scoring. I'd prefer either just everyone score each based on path for each tree or number of trees or highest tree count gets x points (x could be amount of trees they have to win points). Seems a little too aggressive (with the making people lose points for their hard work all game) for my gaming group. I really was hoping for a multiplayer Lost Cities.

Easy to teach? Maybe I just suck at explaining how to play it. You did really well

This might be some of the best graphic design of a game I've seen. I'm enamored by it. Front and back of the cards are both beautiful. Question: How "puzzle-y" is the game in terms of when you are actually laying cards down? In other words, do you feel the tough decisions are only in the card you select to play, or do you also have to use some semi-tough spacial thinking to decide where to lay it in your own tableau?
@TheGameBoyGeeks9 жыл бұрын
There are decisions in all aspects of the game including the spacial aspect. However I'd say once you get used to how the game plays, the hardest decisions are what to draw,play,and discard. The spacial part becomes more like 2nd nature. However I've found I still learn cool little things to do by watching how other's tableaus look.

Its just numbers and trees.
@TheGameBoyGeeks9 жыл бұрын
It may appear that way, but the interaction with the other players (especially with 4) is what makes it. Every decision becomes tense (draw, play, discard)

So is Lost Cities (no trees though)....So tense....perfect

Since I did't care for lost cities at all, I think I might pass on this one too.
