I know it's not intended for what I'm trying to do, but: I'm looking for a lightweight solution to split small pieces of wood, like 4 inch diameter max. Couldn't find any small, lightweight aluminium wedges, lightest was like 7oz - which is pretty heavy in my world. So when I saw those smaller plastic felling wedges I was wondering if they'd do the job. I'd use a wood piece for batoning, so no metal, could see a little channel into the wood to have something for the edge to start with. What would you say? Could that work for a while or will they break after a handful of hits? Thanks a lot for not calling me crazy ;)

We like them because they are relatively inexpensive and they do tend to break quickly, and sometimes only last one use. If you want more details, shoot Brain an email directly brianholers1@gmail.com
