FYI-Levenger is the originator of the disc system. Staples had to go to court about their creation of the ARC system. This is why the Levenger punch seems to work better. Also, Levenger has awesome sales to you can get the heavy duty at a great price. Also, also, :) the Levenger discs are created out to different plastic and they come in designs and sizes other don't have. Check them out. They are great. Just thought you should know.

+Grammi Z Actually Levenger only licensed an existing system and branded it Circa. I've used both, and the difference is the way the paper is punched. The Levenger punch makes a slightly wider and deeper slot than the ARC punch, so no matter which disc you use the paper will slide easier. I love Levenger, especially their leather goods and paper, but they are overpriced, even on sale.

I've been using discbound notebooks and planners for at least 15 years. I first became aware of them through finding random one-off products at places like Target for several years before I found a way to purchase them from a manufacturer, which ended up being the company Rollabind. The next time I found the system was when Staples began carrying it for a few years before they ended up creating the ARC system with some higher quality products. I've also been thrilled over the last few years with Levenger and TUL entering the field and widening the demand for the discbound systems in the US.

Levenger was not actually the originator of the disc notebook system. You can read the history here: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disc-binding

I love your videos, and love how detail you get when showingyour pages. I noticed you had trouble in last video turning ur pages. I believe its because your hole punch holes are to close to edge of your paper. The happy planner hole puncher works pretty well and right now at Jo-Ann they have on sale for around 19, and you can get 20% coupon putting your email in, it will be about 16 and change out the door. Reg price most ppl know are around 30 dollars. Well hope everyone has great day.

What I really want to see is tul vs arc. I can't seem to find that comparison anywhere. Or at least tul vs levenger.

I highly recommend aluminum discs over plastic, no matter what brand you use, for easier and smoother page turning.

to try to get by with arc holes, use a smaller disc size. try not to let the notebook get thinner than the radius of the discs and vice versa.

nicely done! spells out the differences nicely.

How does the levenger punch work on happy planner disc?
@KINDERKRAFTS9 жыл бұрын
Hi again Linda... Thank you so much for making this vid... I just purchased the arc system from staples here in Toronto...and I am having soooooo many probs with it... I luv the actual punch ~~ but the pages do not stay on the ring disc (I am using the larger ring discs) ~~ and I have to keep putting the pages back on... And sometimes things and pages fall out... I do not want to spend a lot more money for another punch... I am wondering if you have any ideas on how to make the arc holes a bit bigger... Thank you so much for sharing... Have a fun evening... Surie

You need to use smaller diameter discs for the pages to stay in. I recommend aluminum discs over plastic for smoother page turning as well.

Levenger discs are thicker and stand up better without flipping back and forth. It is simply the difference between the quality of the items, thus cost differences --Levenger has an outlet on eBay if your looking for a bargain

At the 7:10 mark, you mentioned another punch system that you wanted to try. It sounded like you said roll-a-bind (or something similar), but I'm not finding anything when I tried to search for that. Can you clarify what that third system is that you referenced?

Do you know anything about the filofax refillable notebook punch? Is it compatible?
@bevmynott7 жыл бұрын
ARC / Levenger is not compatible with the Filofax refillable notebook

It's harder to flip your pages because your ARC discs are too big for you calendar. If you add more paper to the current discs, or switched to smaller discs (if you didn't want to add more paper), then it will be MUCH easier for you. The Rolland discs are not as nice as the ARC or Levenger discs -- they actually grab the paper a lot.

I need a hole punch that will go thru thicker plastic... I have the Happy Planner punch and it will not. Anyone have any ideas?
