Thanks for your review! I really like the LD3 despite feeling let down by its predecessors. It was especially protective on snowy trails over the winter when spikes weren’t appropriate. Definitely the best Arcteryx yet!

I tried these on at my local store and if I needed another pair of trail shoes I would have picked these up there and then. Really comfortable and cushy and the upper feels better and more form fitting than the LD2 which was riddled with bunching issues. Salomon Ultra 2 like but in my opinion more comfortable. Will definitely pick these up once I wear out my current trail runners. The lace tuck under the tongue is a neat feature too

The problem on most shoes is that the sole wear out too quickly, and yes I have worn out quite a few shoes. Vibram soles are too soft ... but these are the type of times we live in I guess -- use and throw away. I wish some manufacturers would try to advertise for more miles tho, but its a barrier that it seems shoe manufacturers havent crossed yet. They are perfectly comfortable in selling you their new shoe every season.

Salomon & Arc'teryx are sister companies and since Arcteryx are quite new to the running game they're getting plenty of help ( tech & design ) from their big sister......

Yea true, they even use the same style labels on the boxes. Most likely both brands are manufactured in the same factory.

I have bought these for running longer trails but also for running in the city as they are more comfortable.

I find them quite similar to the Ultra glides, but better in technical terrain. The Ultraglide's transition is a bit smoother because of the more rockered profile. Also more foot volume than the Ultraglides. Both these shoes have terrible insoles however and I replaced them with the Nike trail ones.

Do they have the zoom insole? The Ultra glides are being made in a wide size this year, the ultra-glide-wide!

@@stewartpassmore4248 Zoom? I used Nike trail ones: they are blue and gel-like underneath. I used them in my Invincibles for a 6 hour run on the weekend and no blisters! (usually these shoes give me blisters after around 20k).
